Dave Ruch

This week's guest In the Flamingo Lounge, Dave Ruch, Visited the Flamingo Lounge on September 17, 2024. Dave is a versatile musician and historian whose work has been showcased on American Public Media, in Emmy-winning documentaries, and on stages across North America and the U.K. Dave is also a dedicated educator, sharing his passion for traditional music in elementary school classrooms across the Northeast. Dave is a former Public Scholar for the New York Council for the Humanities (now Humanities NY), writer for The Huffington Post, and a member of the Canal Society of New York State and the New York Folklore Society. Beyond his professional pursuits, Dave enjoys playing music around town. In recent years, he's been touring extensively with his band, "Organ Fairchild," bringing his unique sound to audiences across the Eastern half of the United States.
