On the upside, my recent runway show ranking video is doing surprisingly well, garnering a lot of attention. It's always a great feeling when content resonates with people, and I'm definitely not complaining about that!In trying to understand how this unauthorized access occurred, I stumbled upon something unsettling.However, the ongoing saga with my Facebook and Instagram accounts continues to be a major source of frustration. It appears my Facebook account has been compromised, and this has had a knock-on effect, limiting my control over various functions, including advertising and accessing analytics on Instagram.Listen to Episode Three to know how it all started. The complexity of Facebook's business tools has become quite apparent as I've tried to untangle this mess. Initially, I thought linking my Instagram account to my Facebook advertising account might help me regain control. Unfortunately, this backfired, further restricting my access to Instagram's analytics. It's a strange situation where trying to fix one problem creates another.In trying to understand how this unauthorized access occurred, I stumbled upon something unsettling. In my Facebook settings, under "Your Activity," I found a business integration with a platform called CreatorIQ. I definitely did not authorize this integration. This CreatorIQ had extensive permissions, including access to my Facebook ads, business management tools, and even my connected Instagram account's profile information and comments.CreatorIQ is a legitimate platform, which makes this even more perplexing. It seems someone has used this integration to gain control of my accounts without my consent.I managed to access my business suite through my Instagram account and discovered that the intruder had invited three more accounts and granted them admin access. I removed two of these unauthorised users, but it seems the original intruder still has full control and blocked my access in retaliation.At this point, I feel like I'm watching helplessly as these unauthorised individuals control my business presence. They haven't posted anything inappropriate or used my ad account, but the takeover itself is deeply concerning.I've reached out to Facebook for support, but so far, I've received no response. It's incredibly disheartening to feel like there's no recourse and no one to turn to for help in these situations.The whole experience highlights the vulnerabilities we face in the digital age and the often inadequate support provided by major platforms. I'm sharing this in the hopes that it might help others be more vigilant about their own account security and the potential risks of unauthorised business integrations.Be careful, online.
