Day 147—The Hinge: Numbers 14

They were within walking distance of the land. God had parted the Red Sea for them. He had fed them with bread from heaven for a year. And they stood at the edge of the promise—and couldn't bring themselves to believe He could handle Canaan. Two men tore their clothes. One generation turned back into the desert. And the God who said "I have pardoned" also said "you will not see it." Both sentences were true. Both came from the same holy love.
