Day 170—Blessing and Curse: Deuteronomy 27–28

Moses divides twelve tribes across two mountains. Six on one side, six on the other. The Ark in the valley between. The Levites read the curses—twelve of them, one by one—and all the people say Amen. So be it. They are binding themselves to a covenant they cannot keep. And Moses knows it. He spends the next fifty-four verses describing what that failure will cost. Then, centuries later, a Man walks into every one of those curses. And comes out the other side.
