On June 8th, 1989 the body of Cindy James was discovered in Richmond, BC. She was laying on her side, with her ankles and wrists fastened behind her & had a nylon stocking tied tightly around her neck. The cause of death however, would be overdose. Almost immediately, news networks would be sharing details of a nearly decade-long horror story of a woman, hunted down and scared for her life. By the time Cindy James went missing, she had reported over 100 incidents of stalking, harassment and assaults from an unknown assailant. But by July 12th the RCMP would officially rule out any foul play leaving the public to wonder how could a person do something to themselves like that and why would they? The investigation of her death would lead to one the longest and most expensive inquests in British Columbia's history. It would be ruled inconclusive, with her family believing she was killed and the police believing it was an elaborately staged suicide. While the cause of her death would remain inconclusive, one thing remained certain: nobody agreed that ruling made any sense. And we're still left wondering, to this day: If it was impossible that she did this to herself, then who murdered Cindy James?   Support the show & get bonus episodes on Patreon  _______________________________________ All music is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution. Mari, Our Little Norwegian Cousin by Mary Hazelton Blanchard Wade Loyal Books "Long before Columbus discovered America, there were brave men in the north of Europe who dared to sail farther out upon the unknown waters of the Atlantic than any other people in the world. These daring seamen were called Vikings. Their home was the peninsula of Scandinavia, now ruled over by one king, although divided into two distinct countries, Norway and Sweden. Many of our Norwegian cousins have come to America to make a new home for themselves where the sun shines more warmly and the winds blow less keenly. Their fair-haired children are growing up amongst us, showing us the qualities their parents most admire. Be brave, be honest, be kind to all creatures, be faithful to every little duty,—these are the lessons they have been taught from babyhood, as well as their brothers and sisters who have not as yet ventured far from the land they love so well,—the land of rapid-flowing rivers, deep, dark bays, and narrow valleys.... Come with me to-day to the home of one of these blue-e Obscure Night of The Soul, The by Saint John of the Cross (1542 - 1591) LibriVox The Obscure Night of the Soul, better know today as The Dark Night of the Soul, is the distilled teaching of St John of the Cross, who reintroduced and revolutionized Christian Contemplation in the 16th Century. The text remains in print until this day, and has been an inspiration to seekers for centuries. St John's method is known as the Via Negativa, defined in Wikipedia as "a type of theological thinking that attempts to describe God, the Divine Good, by negation, to speak only in terms of what may not be said about the perfect goodness that is God...In brief, negative theology is an attempt to clarify religious experience and language about the Divine through discernment, gaining knowledge of what God is not (apophasis), rather than by describing what God is. The apophatic tradition is often, though not always, allied with the approach of mysticism, which focuses on a spontaneous or cultivated individual experience of the divine reality beyond the realm of ordinary perception, an Bliss and Drumming: The Slow Enlightenment of the Hard Rock Drummer Bliss and Drumming Clementine Moss is a dynamic creative force—a drummer, songwriter, singer, musician, and writer whose artistic journey continues to inspire and evolve. Her latest work, Nothing Will Keep Us Apart, is a 7-song pop/folk album that beautifully showcases her songwriting and vocal talents. The first single, “Your Love,” is set to release on December 10, 2024, and offers an intimate glimpse into her reflective, soulful sound.“Most of my songs are about love, both for the other and the divine,” Clementine shares. “Where do we find light when so much feels dark? It’s only in love that we find freedom, even when holding to that truth isn’t easy. Exploring that difficulty is a favorite theme in this album.” Written alongside producer/bassist Robert Preston and keyboardist William Cameron, the track brings to mind the eclectic spirit of artists like Tom Waits, St. Vincent, and Norah Jones. In 2025, Clementine will expand her repertoire with Clem & Clearlight, a jazz-infused collection of nine tr The Dark Doorway Mark Bolden Welcome to the Dark Doorway.
