We will also read Matthew 6:19-33 in relation to Revelation 18.Today we will read and discuss the symbolism that Babylon has in Revelation. Babylon is the way of the world that focuses on materialism, buying more and more things, and the love of money and things. In contrast, we read in Matthew 6 Jesus telling us not to store up for ourselves treasure on earth, where it simply does not last, but rather, store up for ourselves treasure in heaven, where it will last forever. God eventually brings judgment on the world's way and warns His people to come away from Babylon so that they will not sin with her or have the troubles she will have. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6 that we cannot serve both God and money.
