JAMES STEVENS (aka qp, memetec / Pacific/Cascadia, Oregon) James Stevens has been playing drum and bass since the late ’90s. For several years he has been making a transition through the UK hardcore continuum into house and techno. He hosted a longstanding bi-weekly radio show on Sub.FM as qp. Having spun throughout the northwestern United States and participating in thriving scenes throughout North America, James now commits himself to music production in his studio on the Oregon coast. This mix was recorded on three Technic 1210s and a Pioneer DJM-900, almost exclusively with vinyl. The range of sounds and rhythms is intended to be expansive and reflective; it showcases his favorites from the golden era of drum and bass all the way through the minimal soul of 2018.
