Small towns are being left behind after cuts to the Department of Omissions, the agency meant to protect the public from things that go bump in the night. In Sherrydown, one neglected market town, a band of misfits have stepped in to protect their neighbours now that the government can’t or won’t. They’re absolutely not sanctioned, not all of them are strictly speaking competent, but they’re the only ones who can help - and that makes it their responsibility.
