Depression Has No Face... (I Know, I've Been There)

from The Paul McGregor Podcast

In this episode I share a personal story about how wearing a mask kept my emotions hidden from those around me. I also share about how this mask was the same one my Dad wore, just before he took his own life. This is a personal, quick, but super important episode. And I'm hoping that this shows others that they no longer need to wear a mask too.Depression simply has no face. No matter how we perceive someone through how they act or what they say, we never truly know what they’re going through. To all of us, my dad was happy. My dad was outgoing, successful, loved and was excited for his future. But his mind told a different story.Whenever you meet someone, remove all preconceived judgements of who they are and their levels of happiness.Whenever you see someone on social media, look through the highlight reel and fake smiles.Whenever you think someone is ok, ask twice.Because you never know how someone is truly feeling.Hopefully you get some value from this episode, and as always don't forget to subscribe!A rating and a review always helps a Podcast get more exposure too, so if you have a minute spare, I'd truly appreciate it!Together, let's stand up to the stigma.Read the blog post here - http://www.pmcgregor.com/depression-has-no-faceGrab yourself a copy of the book here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Man-Up-Down-Standing-Inspirational/dp/1912478463Follow me on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/pmcgregorcomConnect with me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pmcgregorcomSee how I can help you here: http://www.pmcgregor.com Hosted on Acast.
