Discerning the Will of God, Pt 1

Message by Todd Crosthwaite, Lead Pastor What you decide to do with your life is of great importance to God because of what He is doing in the world. He will make your path straight. #1, the Providential Will of God Galatians 4:4-5 Revelation 20:11-15 God often accomplishes His providential will through people. #2 the Moral Will of God ...the commands of God #3 the Personal Will of God What do I do now? The more familiar you become with the providential will of God (what God’s going to do anyway), and the more obedient you become to the moral will of God (what God wants us all to do), the easier it will be for you to discover the personal will of God. The real problem is our unwillingness to follow through. God does not give us direction for consideration. He expects participation, action, obedience. Proverbs 3:5,6 Thomas Merton: We receive enlightenment only in proportion as we give ourselves more and more completely to God by humble submission and love. Surrender to the known will of God paves the way to discovering the unknown will of God. God is more interested in you discovering HIM than He is interested in you discovering His will.
