Disney overweegt om op Disney+ video's te gaan hosten die door eigen gebruikers zijn gemaakt. Dat meldt CNBC. Disney zou met de stap de concurrentie met YouTube (onderdeel van Google) willen aangaan. Michiel Jurrjens vertelt erover in de Tech Update.Volgens CNBC wordt er in de top van Disney dagelijks gediscussieerd over hoe het bedrijf zich tot YouTube zou moeten verhouden. Men zou graag zien dat besprekingen van series of Disney-themaparken op de eigen platforms te zien zijn. Verder in de Tech Update: Bij de cyberaanval op interne systemen van Microsoft in januari is e-mailverkeer met klanten buitgemaakt, meldt Microsoft. Wereldvoetbalbond FIFA wil 2 miljard euro ophalen om de eigen gratis streamingdienst FIFA+ uit te breiden. De dienst werd in 2022 rondom het WK in Qatar opgezet maar is sindsdien weinig succesvol.
