Distant Episode 107 / June 2026
from Mees Salomé · host Mees Salomé
The last few weeks have been a bit of a blur. A lot of shows, new music being released, upcoming releases to prepare for, and a handful of new projects that I’m really excited about. It’s the kind of period you’ve been looking forward to for a long time. Getting to share music, visit new places, and see this little world we’ve built continue to grow. In many ways, it’s exactly what I hoped it would be. At the same time, I’ve noticed something else. The more things there are to do, the easier it becomes to move straight from one thing to the next without really taking any of it in. One show ends and you’re already preparing for the next. A release comes out and your mind is already focused on the one after that. Somewhere along the way, it becomes surprisingly difficult to simply enjoy the things you’ve been working so hard for. I’m not very good at saying no to opportunities. Partly because I’m genuinely excited about all of it, but also because I always want to do my best for everyone involved. Whether that’s the people I work with, the events inviting me to play, or all of you listening and supporting this journey. I’m getting better at juggling all those different things, but I’m also learning that being present for them is just as important as making them happen in the first place. Otherwise, everything starts to feel like a checklist instead of the adventure it was meant to be. There’s a lot to look forward to this month. A new collaboration at the end of June, which I’ve included in this episode, Distant Moments this weekend, and of course festival season ramping up all around us. For now though, maybe this hour can be a small excuse to slow things down for a moment and simply enjoy where you are. Hope you enjoy ❤️
