Even though the weather here hasn’t really felt “summerly” these past few weeks, I’ve had an amazing time. I got to visit and play at some incredible places, spent a lot of productive hours in the studio making new music, and, maybe most importantly, had the chance to really be with friends and family. Tomorrow we will close this wonderful summer together at Distant Beach. I can't wait to spend this beautiful time with you. Compared to earlier this year, I feel like I’ve truly found my groove again when it comes to making music. I can be very perfectionistic, always wanting to perform at my best. Which can sometimes knock me down and demotivate me immensely. It’s so easy to be strict with yourself, to believe you have to work every second and try to force the process. But it's way harder, and just as important, to tell yourself to stop and give yourself the time and space to do something else. Watch a movie, play some games, go out and get some food with friends. It’s not being unproductive, it’s recharging. I really believe that when you’re enjoying life, you’re able to create your best work. Running on empty is never going to help Maybe this month’s episode can be that little moment of space and time to recharge. Hope you enjoy
