Después de haber cursado la licenciatura en Derecho en su ciudad natal, emigró durante un periodo a Francia, donde obtuvo un doctorado en Literatura Latinoamericana por la Universidad de la Sorbona. Entre otras, es autor de las novelas: Los informantes, Historia secreta de Costaguana y El ruido de las cosas al caer, libro por el que le fue concedido el Premio Alfaguara de Novela 2011. Es colaborador habitual del periódico colombiano El Espectador. Actualmente radica en Barcelona. A continuación reproducimos el ensayo “El París de Cortázar (y el mío)”, así como un capítulo de la novela El ruido de las cosas al caer. Estos textos dan cuenta cabal del estilo y las preocupaciones literarias de este autor colombiano.
