Do you know how to handle a patient who is living in chronic stress?

from Dr. Amy Focus · host Dr. Amy Spoelstra

When people live in a state of chronic fear, they tend to lose adaptability and become more vulnerable to stressors. This can result in a person acting much more reactive than they usually would. So how do you communicate with a person when they are in this reactive state? There are very specific rules you can follow to de-escalate the situation and help you achieve a better outcome for yourself and the patient. Dr. Amy breaks down a situation that happened in her office and how they handled it. Copyright © 2020 FOCUS Educational Services, LLC.
