Do you struggle at times with SOME kids or adults wanting to avoid adjustments? Let's break it down!
from Dr. Amy Focus · host Dr. Amy Spoelstra
When working with this demographic, we know that there can be problems with visualization and prediction. When we ask these individuals to get on a table for an adjustment, we are increasing their sensory input in multiple ways. This can create stress and fear, which they may or may not be able to articulate, which often leads to AVOIDANCE behaviors. These avoidance behaviors can vary greatly depending on the individual. It’s our job to understand and communicate with the parents that there are NO purposeless behaviors! Avoidance is communication telling us to LOWER demand. Find out exactly how you can do that by listening to this podcast! Copyright © 2020 FOCUS Educational Services, LLC.
