Donegal Cllr lucky to be alive after charger catches fire

A Donegal County Councillor says he and his family are lucky to be alive after a phone charger caught fire. The alarm was raised yesterday morning after a burning smell was noted in the house. A phone and charger were later discovered smouldering. Councillor Michael McClafferty says it was a miracle that the incident happened during the day and when someone was at home. He believes that it proves a reminder of the dangers of leaving chargers unattended:
