Activists in the Democratic Republic of Congo say at least 17 people have been killed during clashes between police and protesters in the capital, Kinshasa. Anti-government protestors in the Democratic Republic of Congo have blocked roads and burned vehicles in the capital, Kinshasa, after police stopped them from staging a march. The demonstrators are demanding that President Joseph Kabila step down when his mandate ends in December. Riot police used tear gas to disperse hundreds of people who were throwing stones as they tried to march towards parliament.
