TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Dot to dot. A new skill every day. In five minutes. Hey guys, today we are looking at a skill which, despite it being available here in the UK, the A lady doesn't know how to pronounce SAT, or maybe doesn't even know what they are, because we don't have SATs here in the UK.

We have exams, we don't call them that. So, SAT, word of the day, can't be launched unless you say, Alexa, open SAT, word of the day. Today's SAT prep word of the day is buttress. It means to provide support for a building, or to provide support and justification for an argument or idea.

It's spelled B-U-T-T-R-E-S-S. Here's how you use buttress in a sentence. The contractor didn't properly buttress the walls, so the house collapsed months after it was built. If you're enjoying your SAT word of the day, check out our Spanish word of the day skill.

Just ask Alexa to open Spanish word of the day to start learning. There you go. Now, obviously there are lots of skills that give you word definitions randomly, but I thought this was a good one because they are all included, I'm guessing, in the SAT syllabus, or they're all, you know, somehow related to a more specific syllabus that American friends will need to get to grips with. Now, I'm a bit surprised there, because I only mentioned the verb version of buttress, and obviously it's a noun as well.

But still, there you go. SAT, word of the day. Enjoy, guys. That will see you again tomorrow.
