Dot to dot. A new skill every day. In five minutes. Hey guys, today we are looking at a skill called Escape the Hideout which we covered over 500 episodes ago.
Well worth a revisit. Great sound effects. It's your Escape the Room skill. Except in this case you have to recover some treasure, well some loot, some booty that has been stolen by a notorious bank robber.
Alexa, open Escape the Hideout. For years, you've been searching for the hideout of the notorious bank robber, butch McClain. Even though he's long been dead, none of the money he stole from over 100 banks has ever been recovered. An anonymous tip has led you to a long abandoned gas station off a sleepy country road.
You begin to poke around the exterior of the run-down building. The doors are locked and the windows are caked over with grime and dirt. You notice nothing out of the ordinary, and you start to grow discouraged. As you walk around to the back of the building, you feel the ground shift beneath your feet.
In an instant, you plunge downward as the ground gets away and you fall through into a concealed basement or tunnel below. For a moment, you lay stern on your back in the darkness. Miraculously, you appear to be unhurt, somehow avoiding breaking an ankle as you collapse to the ground. Aside from a dusty light filtering down from the hole in the ceiling above you, you're in total blackness.
What would you like to do first? Help. You can move around by saying north, south, east, or west. Interact with items by saying things like a saving table or pick up key or open door.
You can use one item on another by saying things like use key on door or use paint on wall. You can look at your inventory by saying inventory. If you get stuck, you can always ask for a hint. Now, what would you like to do?
Inventory. You don't currently have any items. Look around. You can't do that right now.
North. Gindally, you rise to your feet and rope your way over to a wall, feeling around until you stumble upon a light switch. Given the run-down state of the gas station, you're not hopeful, but to your surprise the light flicks on and illuminates the room. You see that you're in a surprisingly modern room, far more up-to-date than the gas station's exterior.
There's a table in the center of the room, with a dusty bottle of whiskey and a glass. To the eastern wall is a shelf on which appears to be a few assorted items. On the southern wall hangs a television set, and to the western part of the room is a soda vending machine. To the north is a doorway.
Your excitement begins to build as you realize that you've done it. You've discovered the hideout of Butch McClain. What would you like to do next? Stop.
Thanks for playing Escape Games. We hope to see you again soon. Well, there you go, guys. Good, don't you think?
Good sound effects. Nice start to the game. Escape the hideout. We have found Butch McClain's hideout.
Now see if we can recover the loot. Good stuff. Speak again tomorrow, guys. Feedback, comments, demos.
