Open Beethoven Sveena. Ludwig van Beethoven is born in December 1770 into a family of musicians. He is recognised as a child prodigy in his hometown of one. In Vienna, he becomes one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time, succeeding at his second attempt.
He is sent to the world capital of music for the first time at the age of 16 to study under Mozart. Having hardly arrived in the city, he has to return to hold vigil at his mother's deathbed. Six years later, the electoral prince of Cologne funds another trip to Vienna. This time Beethoven stays in the imperial city for good.
