Dot, dot, dot. A new scale every day. In five minutes. Hey guys, code over 700 episodes ago.
This is NPR puzzle fan. A day dose of brain-swersing puzzle. A little bit of an open NPR puzzle fan. Would you like to play the current or the previous NPR puzzle?
Previous. That means we get the answer. Time to play the puzzle. Joining us is Will Schwartz, he's president of The New York Times and we get edition puzzle master, hi Will.
Hey there, Lou. Remind us of last week's challenge. Yes, I came from this new Greg Van Meckle in of Berkley California. I said, take the name of a famous actor, four letters and first name, five letters in the last.
Spoonerize it. That is interchange the initial consonant sounds of the first and last names. And the result will be two new familiar first names. One male, one female.
That's start with the same letter. But that letter is pronounced differently in the two names. Susie actor. Will the actor is John Wayne, Spoonerize that and you get one Jane.
Both starting with Jay, but those days are pronounced differently. We received nearly 450 correct responses and the winner is Laverne of shared organ, but he joins us today from Juneau, Alaska. Congratulations. Well, thank you very much.
It's probably here. So what exactly are you doing in Alaska? I'm a member of the nine points. That's a weird equation.
We don't want to address you. So stop. Yeah, Juan, Jane. So that was the last time.
And if we'd have asked for this one, then we would have different ones without the answer. That's it. We're guys. And we are puzzle fan.
Really good. Is it running? Sign off. Speaking sorry.
