Dot to dot. A new scale every day. In five minutes. Hey guys, today we are going to look at the new Echoes.

I got a parcel from Amazon. They kindly sent me two Echoes so that I could talk to you about them. The first one is the replacement for the Echo. The normal Echo.

And it's now a ball. It's a sphere that's mostly covered in fabric. I don't know if you can hear that. And it's perfectly round apart from a flat bottom so it doesn't roll away.

And it's about six inches in diameter. So that's about 15 or 16 centimetres I would say. And once you've set it up, it's pretty much just like any other Echo. Apart from the sound, let's give it a go.

Alexa, play Queen. This is Queen from Spotify. Tonight, I'm going to have myself a riddle of time. Stop.

Really nice full sound. But I mostly listen to spoken words. So let's hear what it sounds like for that. Alexa, play the Echo Show podcast.

Playing the Echo Show from Amazon Music. Resuming the latest episode. You're back for another episode. Thank you so much for joining us again.

We've got some more skills, haven't we? Beautiful skills. Well, maybe. Well, let us see.

So yeah, we have some skills that we're going to put to the test. Put to the thumbs. Yeah, that's right. Stop.

And it's done. So there you go, guys. That's the normal Echo. And now let's turn to the Echo Dot.

So here we are with the other Echo. This is the new Dot, the fourth gen. And it's about three or four inches across. A lot smaller and exactly the same design otherwise.

I'm going to put the power in the back. We haven't set this one up yet. Okay, so the power's in. So it should take a second to boot up.

And what I'm going to do is go through the setup process now. I have other devices, so this will apply to people that have already set up at least one Echo. But hopefully this will give you an idea of how quick and easy it is to set up additional Echoes. I've opened the app, ready for when she starts talking.

Here we go. That's a nice sound. Hello, your device is ready for setup. Oh, okay.

Just download the Alexa app and follow the instructions. Hello. Thank you. Okay, guys.

There's a button which says continue. That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to turn this down. Pressing a minus lots of times.

So it's saying, on the app, it's saying, what network do you want to connect to? Tapping on Unity. Make sure your device is nearby, plugged in and in pairing mode. Continue.

I'm assuming it is. It's done it already. New device named Robin's Echo Dot found. Wow, it's named it for me.

That's nice. Great, your Echo Dot is now connected. Continue. Tapping on that.

So now it's asking you where it's going to be located. And it's got lots of default names here. Four rooms in the house. You've got kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, master bedroom.

I think that's what I've added. Guest room, that's a default one. Kids room, that's a default name. Kids room.

Just for the sake of it. I suspect that this is going to end up in Faith's room, you see. Continue. It's asking me where I am.

And it's got my home address here. So, going to continue there. Set up complete. So let's first set her at the same volume as we have the other one, which is volume 6.

Alexa, volume 6. We don't get a noise. Alexa, what time is it? The time is 5.17pm.

That's pretty loud. It's not as loud as the other one, though. Let's go to volume 10. Alexa, volume 10.

And let's play Queen again. Alexa, play Queen. This is Queen from Spotify. Tonight, I'm going to have myself.

I'm going to have a good time. I feel like I'm. Stop. Not as much bass, but you can crank the bass up.

The bass, mid, and treble can go from minus 6 to plus 6. Alexa, set the bass to 6. And now let's try again. Alexa, play.

I think that's not my bass. I love Alexa. Stop. Okay, guys.

That's the new generation Dot. Very cute. Fabric-covered little tiny ball. I think it's a really cute new design, and it's definitely got enough power packed into it to fill a room with lots of volume.

Brilliant. Thanks, Amazon, for sending these through. I'm going to enjoy having these added to the collection. This is Robin signing off.
