Doctor Dot. The daily five minute skill devotion. For everyone who's simply dotting about Alexa. Hey guys Robin here, today we are looking at a skill called Auk, Pendulum, it's a choose your own adventure skill with a twist.

In this case, we're the Auk. Are we the baddie? I'll let you decide. Alexa, open Auk, Pendulum.

You quickly catch your breath. The darkness of the brush will only provide a moment of stealth. The night air is filled with a death prize and screams of your clan while they flee for survival in all directions. A surprise attack by the humons was sudden and overwhelming.

You look down and see a long solid stick and feel some large stones around you. What do you do? Do you pick up the stick and begin to sharpen it with your small hunting knife? Do you grab some stones and begin running again?

Or, do you head back in to the village with no armor and wielding only a hunting knife to bring certain doom upon the humons? Stick. While sharpening your stick you hear branches break behind you. Tiny's up.

Good night, Auk. Do you pick up the stick and begin to sharpen it with your small hunting knife? Do you grab some stones and begin running again? When you die, you go back.

Do you head back into the village with no armor and wielding only a hunting knife? Stoned. and doom upon the humons. Stones.

This action has brought you a little time. Oh, good. After a short sprint, you can hear a lot of movement in the brush coming towards you. You see a heavily used animal trail.

What do you do? Do you pause and wait to see if the movement will pass by you? Do you sprint for the trail? In the hopes to gain more distance?

Do you throw a stone to distract your pursuers and move further into the brush? Sprint for the trail. You take a couple of steps upon the trail. Then you register the light thumb of a bow release.

Oh, oh. Good night, talk. Do you pause and wait to see if the movement will pass by you? I should have gone for this step.

Do you sprint for the trail? Yes. Do you throw a stone to distract your pursuers and move further into the brush? Throw a stone.

The noise in the brush from the thrown stone distracts your pursuers for a moment. The sounds of the pursuers seem to be growing in number. You pause. You notice movement at a tree near you.

You focus and recognize a slave clan goblin. Oh. What do you do? Do you try to convince the goblin to come with you?

Do you grab the goblin and hurl it on the trail? Do you hit the goblin with a stone to put it out of its misery? Throw the goblin. It felt great.

To kill something but the delay cost you. Oh. Good night, talk. Do you try to convince the goblin to come with you?

I think. Do you grab the goblin and hurl it on the trail? Grab the goblin. Do you hit the goblin with a stone to put it out of its misery?

I thought the third one. Grab the goblin. The goblin yelps as you hurl it onto the trail. You can hear its pitiful death cries that humons slay it.

This action gains you some separation from your pursuers. You recognize where you are and that a small animal pit trap is near you. Oh. What do you do?

Run towards the pit trap. Or continue into the brush without delay? Run towards the pit trap. You get to the trap and see that it is still sad.

What do you do? Make some noise then continue running through the brush. I then wait for the humons. Stand your ground at the trap.

Make some noise. You hear a scream at humons yelling. Then the sounds of pursuit behind you. You come upon a trail that you recognize and instead of blindly running you make a decision.

What do you do? Follow the trail south to the clams when to camp where you hope your clan will rally. Or head to the nest. It is risky but maybe you can bring a bigger fight to the humons.

Head to the nest? You know you are near the nest when you see the dried up corpse of the deer and other remains you can not make out in the dark. Oh. You greatly slow up your pace and listen.

You inch forward step by step. You can hear the humons closing in on your position. You take another step and you recognize the click, clicks of your target. Another step and you freeze.

You can see the giant black widow spiders. They are out of their shallow cave. The spiders seem very agitated probably because of the sounds of the humon attack or the pursuers on your trail. The spiders are in the open.

What do you do? Do you take the next step in your plan to bring the fight to the humons? Or do you? Modify your plan and wait in hiding for your pursuers to stumble upon the spiders and not you.

Modify your plans. Uh oh. This action turns into an extra chaotic moment. With the humons running into the giant spider ranks.

Then retreating right into you. Uh oh. Spiders leaving everywhere. Human screaming and you feeling the bite in your back.

Good night, AUG. Do you take the next step in your plan to bring the fight to the humons? Or do you? Modify your plan and wait in hiding for your pursuers to stumble upon the spiders and not you.

Stop. You said stop. Thank you for playing AUG. We hope you enjoyed playing this module.

Wow. So there's a book associated with it as well. AUG Pendulum is the name of the skill and the book. I wonder if I'd have asked for help.

I could have said one, two, three, et cetera. Because boy, trying to remember those. The wording, which I got wrong a couple of times, didn't I? I wanted to throw the AUG.

And interpreted it as fighting the AUG. I mean, not AUG Goblin. And really, it should be in grab the goblin. And hurt it on the trail.

Something like that. I really like this. AUG Pendulum. It really gives you empathy for being in the position of the AUGs.

Wow. Goblins and spiders and hoomons. Brilliant. This is Robin signing off.

And we'll speak in tomorrow. Feedback comments demos. The dot dot podcast at gmail dot com. Briefcast dot FM.
