TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Dr. Dot. The daily fighting and skill devotion. For everyone who's simply dotting about an accent.

How do you and welcome to the Dr. Dot Podcast. My name is Sean and in today's skill. Well, basically we're going to protect you, your family and your home.

Yes, or by using a skill. Hmm, probably. The skill is... Burgular to Taren.

Now this is a revisit. We last looked at this skill way back in episode 566. But as ever, this is my first time using the skill. So let's jump into it.

Alok. Open Burgular to Taren. Welcome to Burgular to Taren. Here's a quick reminder, for even more realistic sounds, just ask for real-time mode at any time.

Would you like to start barking dog sounds again? No. Okay, just say the sound you want, ask me to name the options, or enable real-time mode. Name options.

You can choose between 9 different basic sounds. Apart from that, Burgular to Taren now also has a real-time mode. This adds realism by playing sounds at appropriate times, such as dogs barking during the day and people watching TV overnight. If you want to hear more on the real-time sounds, just ask me at any time.

Or check out the info in your Alexa app. Here are the first three basic sounds, living room, kitchen, barking dog. Would you like one of those or another one? Another one.

Here are three more, home office, bathroom, garage. Would you like one of those or another one? Bathroom. What can it be?

Would you like to start bathroom with activity level high and with background music off? Yes. Starting bathroom with activity level high and background music off. To change sounds say Alexa go back, to finish say Alexa stop.

Oh. That's enough. I'll stop. Okay.

I've stopped Burgular to Taren't. Welcome home. Okay. So that's pretty cool.

Right. Slightly weird. I'll grab you. But it's cool.

But I got to say this skill really comes into its own when you use it as part of a routine. I'll show you. First thing we need to do is open up the Lady A app. And when you do tap on the more button in the bottom right hand corner.

More tab now tap on routines and tap on add in the top right hand corner. Routines add new button. And here we are in a new routine. It's empty.

So let's fill it out. Enter routine name. First thing to do is give it a name. I'm going to call it alarm test.

When this happens X. Okay. The next thing we need to choose is when will this routine run? What triggers it?

And there's a few things you can choose from. You can have a custom voice command or a schedule or when it detects sound. But I'm going to choose a smart home device. Choose device front garden button.

Nope. Not that one. That garden button. Nope.

Front door button. That's what I want. My front door bell. And I'm going to set the trigger to be when it detects any motion at my front door.

When front door detects motion. That's good. Now you tap on next in the top right hand corner and then. But action X.

We're nearly done. The last thing we need to do is add the action. What do we want it to do? There's lots of options here, but we're going to choose the one right at the top, which is.

Customize for more actions. Type in what you would ask Alexa to do. So now I'm just going to type tell burglar to Taren play barking dog. Then tap on next from.

And lastly, we choose which speaker we want to play this skill from. Choose device. Sean's fire TV state studio speaker. That there is this studio speaker right here.

Tap on that and we're done. Tap save in the top right corner. Routing created successfully. Okay, we've made it.

Now let's test it out. I'm going to run to my front door. Stay there. Motion detected at the front door.

Thanks, chef. I'll stop the stop. Okay, I've stopped by the deterrent. Welcome home.

So there you have it. That was very good to turn. Why not give it a go? Thank you.

I'm see you next time. Better up and welcome to dot to dot podcast. My name is Joe. Robin.

Thank you for letting me sit in today. Today as I record this, it is opening day of the 2022 major league baseball season here in the States. And I thought what better way to celebrate that than to bring you a fun baseball skill that you can play through your smart speaker. Well, how are you going to play baseball skill through your smart school?

Well, I'm glad. Yes, I'm glad. Yes, because it is such a fun and unique answer. How about if I told you're going to use sound and tone?

Let's give it a whirl. Seventh-inch stretch baseball. Alexa, enable seventh-inch stretch baseball. Okay, here's seventh-inch stretch baseball.

Button's optional. Welcome to seventh-inch stretch. Say yes if you are ready to begin. If you would like detailed instructions, say help.

Help. You are playing a baseball game. Your voice gives instruction to control both batting and pitching. Rules are the same as a standard baseball game.

When batting, you will hear a series of beeps indicating the pitch being thrown for you to hit. Pay close attention to the sound of the beeps as they change depending on what is being thrown. For example, this is what a fastball that is right down the middle sounds like. This is a good pitch to get a hit, so you should say swing.

Now listen to another pitch. This is what a low curveball sounds like. With the sounds that were just played, the pitch of the beeps changed, that indicated that the position of the pitch is dropping. The last note played is a low sound, so the pitch is below the strike zone and should not be swung at.

Let's listen to it again. When you hear a pitch that is outside of the strike zone, say take. If you have an Alexa button, you can use it in place of verbal commands. For example, pressing the button when batting indicates a swing.

When pitching, you can use the button to select a pitch for you. If you are interested in playing a full-night inning game, please say, list product details, and I will share with you an upgrade for this skill that allows playing a full game. Say yes to start the game, or if you want me to repeat these instructions, just say help. Yes.

All right. Now let's get ready to play ball. It is the bottom of the seventh inning and the black bears are down three to two. There is still time for a comeback and they are now getting ready to bat.

All batting, the pitch bar. In-braid, low-pitch. Here comes the pitch. Swing.

Low-pest swings and was fooled by a good fastball and losses. Strike one. Here comes the next pitch. Swing.

Low-pest swings and was fooled by a good change of a misses. Fall apart. Strike two. Here comes the next pitch.

Please say swing or take. Swing. Low-pest hits a drive out to center. The ball is deep.

Uh-oh. Oh, I would do myself. Thanks Lopez. Woohoo.

And lands ten rows into the bleachers for a home run. That ties the game at three. If you are ready for the next batter, please say yes. Stop.

Thanks for playing. Your game will be saved and can be resumed at a later time. That was seventh inning stretch baseball. Good luck.

Let's do another one.
