Dr. Dot. The daily five minute skill devotion. For everyone who's simply dotting about an accent.
Fatter up and welcome to the dot dot podcast. My name is Joe, Robin. Thank you for letting me sit in today. Today as I record this, it is opening day of the 2022 Major League Baseball season here in the States.
And I thought, what better way to celebrate that than to bring you a fun baseball skill that you can play through your smart speaker? Well, how are you gonna play baseball skill through your smart? Well, I'm glad you asked. I'm glad you asked because it is such a fun and unique answer.
How about if I told you you're gonna use sound and tone? Let's give it a whirl. Seventh inning stretch baseball. Alexa.
Enable seventh inning stretch baseball. Okay, here's seventh inning stretch baseball. Button's optional. Welcome to seventh inning stretch.
Say yes if you are ready to begin. If you would like detailed instructions, say help. Help. You are playing a baseball game.
Your voice gives instruction to control both batting and pitching. Rules are the same as a standard baseball game. When batting, you will hear a series of beeps indicating the pitch being thrown for you to hit. Pay close attention to the sound of the beeps as they change depending on what is being thrown.
For example, this is what a fastball that is right down the middle sounds like. This is a good pitch to get a hit, so you should say swing. Now listen to another pitch. This is what a low curve ball sounds like.
With the sounds that were just played, the pitch of the beeps changed, that indicated that the position of the pitch is dropping. The last note played is a low sound, so the pitch is below the strike zone and should not be swung at. Let's listen to it again. When you hear a pitch that is outside of the strike zone, say take.
If you have an Alexa button, you can use it in place of verbal commands. For example, pressing the button when batting indicates a swing. When pitching, you can use the button to select a pitch for you. If you are interested in playing a full 9-inning game, please say, list product details, and I will share with you an upgrade for this skill that allows playing a full game.
Say yes to start the game, or if you want me to repeat these instructions, just say help. Yes. Alright. Now let's get ready to play ball.
It is the bottom of the seventh inning, and the black bears are down three to two. There is still time for a comeback, and they are now getting ready to bat. That is the first time. Unbreakable.
Here comes the pitch. Swing. Lopez swings and was fooled by a good fastball and losses. Strike one.
Here comes the next pitch. Swing. Lopez swings and was fooled by a good change up and losses. Fall apart.
Strike two. Here comes the next pitch. Please say swing or take. Swing.
Lopez hits a drive out to center. The ball is deep. Uh oh. Oh, I'll do myself.
Thanks Lopez. Woo hoo. And lands 10 rows into the bleachers for a home run. That ties the game at three.
If you are ready for the next batter, please say yes. Stop. Thanks for playing. Your game will be saved and can be resumed at a later time.
