TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Dot to Dot, with 85 minutes to demo show, for everyone who's simply Dotty about Alexa. Hello and welcome to the Dot to Dot podcast. My name is Sean, and in today's skill, well, if you're a Twitcher, it's going to be right up your alley. Or if you're a Billoddy wannabe, no I didn't swear, Billoddy wannabe, you're going to love this skill.

It's all about birds. This is a revisit. We first looked at this skill way back in Dot to Dot episode 26. But as ever, this is my first time using this skill.

Let's go. Alexa, open bird song. Welcome to Birdsong. Give me the name of a bird, or say, help, to hear about all the fun things you can do with this skill.

Help. You can get a complete list of bird sound in birdsong at birdsongskill.com. To hear a bird song, just say something like, Sparrow, or surprise me. To play a fun bird identification game, say, game.

For a continuous stream of bird songs, say, song stream. You can also say, repeat, to hear the last bird song played, or say, stop, to exit. What would you like to do? Wood pigeon.

This is a common wood pigeon. Yes, yes, that is a pigeon. What bird would you like to hear next? House sparrow.

This is a house sparrow. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.

That's fine. What bird would you like to hear next? European robin. This is a European robin.

Oh yeah. Yeah, definitely. European. Alexa, surprise me.

The osprey sounds like this. Sounds like a bird. What bird would you like to hear next? Game.

Yes, let's play name that bird. Why not? I'm going to play a bird song and then ask you to guess what type of bird it is. Okay, I'm going to be terrible.

Listen closely. Oh, yes. Hmm. Hmm.

Hmm. Oh. Yep. Which of the following birds do you think that is?

Black grouse, white-winged parakeet, or north-western crow? That's a white-winged parakeet. That's right. This is a white-winged parakeet.

Good year. Thanks. If you would like to play again, just say, game. Otherwise, give me the name of a bird you want to hear.

Song stream. Oh. Ow. I don't know.

Quick to who? Is that no? So, there you go. That was bird song.

Yeah, all right. If you're into your bird one... Oh. That one seems to be skateboarding.

If you're into your birds, then this is the skill for you. Enjoy. That's a dog. Feedback, comments, demos.
