Dr. Dot, with 85 minutes skill devotion. For everyone who simply dotty about Alexa. Hello and welcome to the Dr.
Dot podcast. My name is Sean, and in today's skill, we're hunting yetis. Yep, it's as simple as that. Now, this is a skill revisit.
We last looked at this skill way back in episode 179. But as ever, this is my first time playing this skill. Let's go. Uh, uh, open yeti hunt.
Welcome to yeti hunt. Say begin game, or how to play, or overview. Overview. In yeti hunt, you are a hunter armed with a single spear in a dark 5x5 room cave.
There are bats, open pits, and a terrible yeti. Your goal is to kill the yeti with a single spear throw. To begin a new game, say begin game. To get help, say how to play.
Begin game. The hunter, armed with a spear, is lost in a cave. Help the hunter escape. The hunter does not sense anything near.
Rooms are open north, south, east, west. Okay, so we're somewhere on this 5x5 grid, and there's no danger around us. The hunter senses no danger, so we know it's safe to move in any of the four directions. Now, what I tend to do is try and find the edge of the grid or a corner, so I know where I'm starting from.
So I'm going to go west. West. The draft and open pit is felt nearby. Rooms are open north, south, east, west.
Ooh, there's a bottomless pit nearby. I don't know if it is bottomless, but you will die if you fall into it. So you don't know exactly where it is. There's a one in four chance of me hitting this pit.
I'm still looking for the edge of the grid, so I'm going to go west. West. The hunter does not sense anything near. Rooms are open north, south, east.
Ah, we've hit the edge. There's no more west, so we know we're on the left-hand edge of the grid. Let's go north. North.
The hunter does not sense anything near. Rooms are open north, south, east. Okay, north again. North.
North. Enormous bats are heard nearby. Rooms are open north, south, east. Ooh, enormous bats.
Now, they're not really that dangerous. All they do is pick you up and drop you in a different part of the grid. So it's not the end of the world. Now, they could either be to the north or to the east, because we know I've just come from the south and there's nothing to the west.
So it's a one in two chance. Do I go north or do I go east? North. North.
Ha, made it. The draft of an open pace is felt nearby. Rooms are open south, east. Hey, no more north, no more west.
So we know we're in the top left-hand corner of the grid. So if you want to start mapping this place out, then this is a good place to start. Now we know there's a bottomless pit nearby. And actually, as we know, we can go north, west, and we came from the south.
The pit must be to the east. So ideally, I should backtrack and make my way around this trap. But you know what? I can't be bothered.
Let's go east. The hunter steps into an open pit and falls. The hunter has died. The game is over.
If you would like to play again, say begin game or say stop. Right, I've never found this yet yet, so I'm going to have one more game, but I'll speed it up so it's not quite as painful for you listening. Begin game. The hunter, armed with a spear, is lost in a cave.
Help the hunter escape. The hunter has died. The game is over. If you would like to play again, say begin game or say stop.
Oh, stop. Okay, lie. Thanks for playing. Maybe you can find the yeti.
I know I can. Why not give it a go? That was yeti hun or hunter yeti. Thank you for listening and see you next time.
