E019 Build Your Business Through the Power of Connection

from Small Biz Power · host Nina Radetich

What is the role of a chamber of commerce in the business community?  It involves more than you might think.  In this episode of Small Biz Power, our guest is Lisa Chao, the Vice President of Membership for the Henderson Chamber of Commerce.  Lisa's career spans 20-years in the realm of business development. She's a Las Vegas native and known as a go-to "business connector" throughout Southern Nevada. Currently, in her role at the Henderson Chamber, Lisa directs the organization's long-term member development goals, including sales strategies and effective programming. When she's not working, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family attending sporting events, including those from her alma mater, UNLV.  Lisa and I cover a lot of ground in this episode, including what the chamber is doing in the wake of the tragic mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip. Questions I ask Lisa Chao: What is the toughest part about convincing people to join the chamber? What are the most common problems small business owners face? What's unique about doing business in Las Vegas? What's on the horizon for businesses in Las Vegas with the addition of two major league sports teams?  What You'll Learn If You Listen: How you as a business owner can give back to the victims of the Las Vegas Strip shooting What you can gain from chamber membership and how many members they currently have The difference between the Henderson Chamber and the Las Vegas Metro Chamber and why you don't need a Henderson address to be a member Why there's more to the Henderson Chamber than just networking Links to Things We Talked About & Follow the Henderson Chamber on Social Media:   Henderson Chamber Website Henderson Chamber Facebook Henderson Chamber Twitter Like what you hear?  Be sure to Subscribe and leave us a review in iTunes.
