Er entdeckte die berühmte Zahl "Pi", die z.B. den Erdkreis beschreibt. Er taufte sie "Pi" nach dem Anfangsbuchstaben der Stadt St. Petersburg, in der er lebte. Von ihm stammt die imaginäre Zahl "i" (für Wurzel aus -1) und die Zauber-Zahl "e" (= Euler), welche die "natürlichen und hyperbolischen Logarithmen" wiedergibt. Es geht um das Genie Leonhard Euler, geboren 1707. Wladimir Velminski, Mathematiker und Wissenschaftshistoriker, berichtet über Euler, das Genie.
