El músico Francesc Burrull colabora con Joan Manuel Serrat desde 1967 firmando los arreglos del EP Cançó de matinada, donde además del tema homónimo figuran Me'n vaig a peu, Paraules d’amor y Les sabates. En 1972 volverá a reencontrase con Serrat para firmar los arreglos del álbum Miguel Hernández, uno de los trabajos más destacados del cantautor catalán, del que será director musical y pianista a principios de los años 70 hasta que retorne Ricard Miralles en 1974. Fiel a ese compromiso con las canciones de Serrat es su recital con la cantante Laura Simó que lleva presentando desde 2002, un paseo antológico por la obra del cantautor barcelonés, finalmente editada en formato CD en 2007. En 1967 aparece también el sencillo con los populares temas La tieta y Cançó de bressol, así como su primer disco de larga duración, el LP en catalán Ara que tinc vint anys que incluye algunas de las canciones editadas en sencillos o EP anteriormente, además de Balada per a un trobador, Els vells amants y Els titelles.
