In this episode of The Missing Links Golf Show, Steve and Andy break down two very different competition experiences—each packed with lessons that every golfer can relate to.

Steve kicks things off with his experience at The Bathurst Open, a weekend that didn’t go quite to plan on the scoreboard, but revealed plenty of positives. Despite a tough stretch, he stayed competitive, fought through the swings that weren’t quite cooperating, and found real momentum with a significantly improved putting performance in Round 2. It’s a raw conversation about managing expectations, dealing with frustration, and learning to take the wins even on the hard days.

Andy then shares a round of his own—one that started shaky before a single mental commitment flipped everything. After grinding through the front nine, he made the choice to swing freely, and the shift unlocked his game. His back nine became a lesson in trust, freedom, and letting go of the tension that quietly sabotages so many golfers.

Together, the boys dive into:

  • The mindset needed to stay in the fight when your “A game” doesn’t show up
  • Why small performance gains (like putting) matter more than most golfers think
  • The mental trigger that helped Andy turn the round around
  • How freedom, commitment, and acceptance can unlock better swings
  • The value of learning from off-days, not just the highlight reels
  • What everyday golfers can take from two competitive rounds with very different story arcs

If you’ve ever battled through a tough comp, struggled to find rhythm, or felt the magic of finally swinging free, this episode will hit home.

Lost Island of Atlantis, The by Edward Taylor Fletcher (1816 - 1897) LibriVox In this paper, read before the Literary and Historical Society, Quebec, Fletcher demonstrates methodically what he perceives as evidence for the existence of the island of Atlantis. He begins by documenting the historical instances Atlantis is referred to in ancient texts, even if only as a myth (Part 1), continues on to analyze linguistic elements that might indicate an Atlantean origin (Part 2), and also presents a connection between the American and the European fossil flora and amber fauna, suggesting that Atlantis is the missing link (Part 3). At the end, he makes mention of the deep-sea soundings of the Atlantic ocean and other geological findings (Part 4). The Lost Island, a poem by Fletcher, is included as Part 5 of this audiobook. - Summary by Rapunzelina CALL to ZION!
