In August 2011, GIE Media announced the creation of the Accredited Snow Contractors Association, with Gilbride being named Executive Director, the position he holds today. Within a year of the association's inception, the ASCA established the industry's first set of professional standards, developed an educational-based certification program, instituted an ISO9001-based certification program specifically for the professional snow removal industry, and has taken an active stance toward tort reform, including providing testimony to Congress about the impact frivolous slip-and-fall claims have on small businesses.A Cleveland-area native, graduate of St. Ignatius High School and John Carroll University, Gilbride spends his free time with his wife, Annemarie, and their three children, as well as working on his 18 handicap.
