Ep. 14 - Fireside Chat with Jason Hickey, Logo Bro, Part II

from The Card Diary by Hobby S. Thompson · host Hobby S Thompson

Before I present the second part of my chat with Jason, I monologue for a good bit about diversity and inclusion in The Hobby and in the Netflix show, King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch. This is such an important topic that I think gets swept under the rug, and the conversation is going to be difficult, but it has to happen, and change is inevitable, because that's the only way we are going to grow The Hobby and also because well, that's life! So I shared some of my thoughts to continue the conversation forward, because one of the things I loved most about King of Collectibles was the diversity the show presented. Getting to Part II of my chat with Jason, he and I talk about the newest triple logoman recently hit and what his reaction was to it. Then, we play a game of start/bench/cut with the three LeBron's: Cavs/Heat/Lakers. I get sidetracked and we talk 90's basketball, especially the incredible Knicks-Heat rivalry. We get back on track with questions from my kids to Jason, which he was so gracious to answer. We then get to talking about Jason's involvement with being on set and gives us behind the scenes of filming on the show. I then sidetrack us again by talking about New York City basketball players, why some of the best guards couldn't shoot, and more 90's basketball. We wrap up by talking about plans for going to National and getting old. Insert cry emoji here. YouTube link to Part II: https://youtu.be/ZpT9zCDD9XQ
