I don't think so. I don't remember a catchweight, 5149. I don't think it's anything stand out, Paul. Anything stand out?
I'm sure you may have had one at 149 when it was supposed to be like a 1.54 or something or it was a little bit above 147. I reckon Floyd has done every pound probably from about 126, about 160. So I'll let your statistician have a dig on that one. Yeah, next episode, Canelo, Matthew Hatton, that was 150, I think.
And I think Pacquiao Margarito was 150 as well. So maybe the next one. We'll talk about those two fights maybe a little bit. It's been a few weeks.
It's been a few weeks. I've been recorded two in a week and then, yeah, it feels long when it's actually been, I think it's only been two weeks or three weeks. But apologies once again. A lot going on.
I thought we'd start the World Cups on. But Italy aren't in it, Paul. How are you enjoying it? Yeah, I'm loving it, mate.
I mean, it is the World Cup of Upsets on so many levels, isn't it? I mean, all the controversy with Qatar, I think all the... I can put it. The hype from two rivaling broadcast installations between BBC and an ITV, BBC being very, very vocal in terms of area of everything I'm not happy with, what's happening in Qatar.
And an ITV being a little bit more Switzerland with it. So Gary Lindkor, really not giving a flying shit. I think he gets to Sapanet because he wants to express himself. So I guess, fair play to Delimico.
But at the end of the day, it's a football tournament. And what we've seen so far, I think it's one of the best opening rounds to World Cup that I've seen in years. I mean, bloody hell, Spain was just finished as we were recording here at the moment. Spain was just being Costa Rica, 7-0.
Japan earlier today were losing 1-0. And it's funny because if you listen to the conference, you know, Japan still could be in with a chance at it. And it wasn't still could be in, I think they were actually running the game. And then it's all the two goals.
Well, first time I think I've ever been in Germany, phenomenal. And then you've got probably one of the biggest upsets in history, which is Saudi Arabia being Argentina. And Saudi Arabia being given a national holiday today in recognition of the performance, which is absolutely brilliant. All right, so, have you seen the goals?
I mean, the second goal from Saudi Arabia, I mean, that goal of the month stuff right there, it was incredible. And let's not forget England, 6-2. Everyone was saying, oh, yeah, it's Iran. I think it was right, like number 20 in the world.
So it's not there as a team. I think I've got a couple of players who play for Brighton or something like that. And so, yeah, it's been great. You know, real, some lick in the lips type stuff, loads of goals, loads of goals, you know, some of them version of rugby schools.
And obviously, I must admit, I've been working flat out of my Brighton, Tony Gell's book, so I'm kind of in the football slipstream. But whenever I get a chance, I try and catch a few minutes here and there. And yeah, I am loving it mate, absolutely loving it. Yeah, no, I've had a few people say to me, somebody said to me, this one, no, it doesn't feel the same as previous World Cubs.
I'm not sure it's good. I think that's rubbish. I think that's rubbish to be honest. I think the only thing that's different about is it.
It's in the wind time, it's not the summer. So you can't sit in a pub garden, really, or be outside and sit there with you mates and watch outside or your friends, family, whatever. But other than that, it's a football tournament and everybody gets up for the World Cup. Everybody does.
Even people aren't into football, watch it. Like, I think that's what's so good about it. And yesterday, I had a lot on at work, but I had Argentina against Saudi Arabia on and I was on the phone on a work call and I turned the TV down and Saudi Arabia scored this second. I was like, oh my God.
Yeah, I got no. I got nothing done. I got nothing done yesterday. It was four games on.
And it finishes at nine o'clock at night. And it's great. And yeah, I wish it was in the summer and it wouldn't be our way through the domestic season, but everybody loves international tournaments. We all do.
Yeah, now it's got to go inside. Yeah, come on. Let's go. It's the World Cup and I think England have got a good chance.
You know, I think the centre backs worry me. Eric Dyer, I don't really like Eric Dyer in a four. He plays in a three for Spurs and he's not putting up any trees for Spurs. Harry Maguire's not up too much either.
But you look at the attacking players that England have got, you know, Foden, Grie, Shari, Kane, Reheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Saka. Like they've got so many good attacking players that they're going to cause problems for anybody. So yeah, yeah, I hope I can go far. Got myself an England shirt on those dodgy sights.
I got a replica of the night in the day. Two, one with the Admiral badge, so I think that's 20 quid. And I was kind of expecting that once I watched it once, you know, the logo would fall off. So actually it looks as good as any.
And you know, it feels like the proper one. So yeah, I came in Keegan vibe, minus the fuzzy hair really. But yeah, I think England's doing well. It's funny because, you know, it's sort of sheer saying that I think they would make as far as the quarters maybe.
But I'll tell you what, at the moment, everything's kind of been thrown out of window because bookies, whoever put bets on in advance for the first round, there's a lot of bookies out there which are probably be versioning on going bust at the moment. I mean, anyone who put on some decent money for any of these games at the moment in terms of either betting scores or selling for Saudi to win, even though it's stuck with one quid on or a Japan. I mean, some of the Japanese, you know, I heard a room that's on the pot like £100 and God knows what to want from the bookies. And we'll certainly be buying the Sarkees tonight, you know?
Yeah, absolutely. No, it's been really good. And yeah, I think if you've had, I know somebody, a friend of mine who does the fight and cock with me, John Bassie had some money on Japan. He put some money on Japan and I think he won Nike Quid or something.
So yeah, absolutely. And the other thing that I've noticed is you go on to it, and everybody's suddenly an expert in history. You know, I found out yesterday that the SAS once invaded the Iranian embassy because people start referencing this stuff because of the football matches. It just really cracks me up.
Every suddenly everybody becomes an expert in war and military history and relates it to football. And it just cracks me up every single time. But yeah, that's really good. And obviously we have to work the boxing.
You know, the boxing seems to be getting worked around it, doesn't it? You know, this Friday's England against USA. But on the same night, Liam Williams is back boxing again. Did you see that?
Liam Williams is boxing on Channel 5. Yeah, absolutely. And I wish him the best. I think he should win.
But I think he's not the East kind of result of the fact that he's not going to win a world title because there might have been a few shots of people going for world titles. And almost putting off the likes of Zephyr Barret, who we can sort of touch upon. But I think Liam for me is when I fight, is it the weight he's at the moment where there are some fantastic opposition at European level out there that I'd love to see him block on. And with a bit 154, 160, whatever he feels, I know he's got a lot of evil struggling at 154.
But yeah, I think he'll win. I think possibly he'll be by stoppage as well. But let's see what happens. Let's see what happens.
Yeah, you don't really pour against you, Bank. Or just you Bank was just too good. I think maybe perhaps you banked a level above him. But I think we expect a lot more from Liam Williams, I thought we expected him to give you Bank a tough fight.
And he didn't really at all. But maybe you bank was just a level above. I wouldn't mind seeing Liam Williams is only one fight away from winning the British title outright. So he could do that.
He could have won one fight for the British title. And then I think Denzel Bentley's got the British title. And he could get back at it again, win that, and give it back up again and go for European. But maybe he don't care.
And that's fine too. But yeah, there's a lot. There's a lot on this weekend. We were just talking off air before we started recording.
I'm going to the Dylan fight, Dylan White fight this weekend. My friend Scott, who was longtime distance to the podcast, will remember Scott, he recorded with us back in the early days. He works for the Metroom and he was kind enough to give me a couple of comp tickets. So you're looking forward to the Dylan show.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Denzel got left, to be honest. I mean, when he fought against Fury, he wasn't very good. He really wasn't very good. I mean, I don't know if that's the case of Tyson was boxing that well.
Or whether it was the case of Denzel of this age. I'm not really sure. I'm not really sure. I would personally like to see him blitz, Jimmy.
Yeah. And really absolutely do a number. But like I said, I'm sure he's not sure we've got left in the tank. Yeah, but I'm not overly excited, if I have to be honest.
No, I'm not really. I think Dylan White's probably going to beat him. I don't think he's up so much. He's 21 and no, but he's not beating anybody.
But for me, what I like it is the undercard. Craig Richards against Riccard by a lot of Knicks. Fabio Wardley against Nathan Gorman for the British title. Those are a couple of ranked.
They're both a couple of really good fights. I'm looking forward to them more than the Dylan White fight all day. Yeah, 100%. So I mean, Spider, as you said before, he's probably one of the most under-eight 175 pound fighters in the country.
I said, I'd like to see Anthony Arfati against Spider because he's that difficult. He's that tricky. And then we've seen him prove his worth against Big Bowl and against Guwatsy. The other day, Anthony Arfati was ranked like, what was it?
300-something in the world. And now he's fighting, you know, it's kind of like, there's no sort of stepping up in there. It's held up to rankings and manipulated the mandatory to create. It's still the support.
It's the age-old argument that makes me sick. But yeah, I think they're great under cards. And yeah, Fabio Wardley against the Gorman one. Great fight.
Absolutely perfect. Domestic dustup. And you know, Nathan seems to be back in shape again. And his head's in the right place.
He's got some, he can put the punches together beautifully. And Fabio is Fabio's Fabio. You know, he's a, I thought in his last outing, you know, he probably could have done a little bit better. But let's see what happens with it.
So it could turn into a little bit of a slugfest. Or we could even maybe even have a stoppage in it as well. Yeah, no, I think that's a really, really good card. I'm looking forward to both of those.
And Craig Richards against Bullocknicks. Bullocknicks gives everybody a tough fight. He won the Golden Contract on MTK. And yeah, I think it was just a fight for grabs.
I can't remember if that happened or if it fell out of bed. But good fight. Good fight. You know, give Craig Richards a tough fight.
I think Craig Richards will win. I think it'll be a little bit of a bad. I think he'll win. Might even get the stoppage, which not many people do.
And Bullocknicks. But I like Bullocknicks. I like Craig Richards. Boxing on Channel 5 Friday as well.
Also as well, I forgot about his Zach Parker against John Ryder this weekend as well. Yeah. Well, right fight. So I mean, I've always been a fan of John Ryder.
Very, very, very tough fight all the way back from the days when he fought against Billy Jo Saunders. He was sort of narrowly lost on that one. I don't know if he still carries the name, the moniker of the gorilla. But he's got an econ in which sort of almost comes out of his shoulders.
It looks like he's about 25 inches. He can certainly take a punch. But I kind of think that he was unlucky against kind of Smith. And I think a few other people did as well for the cause of no justice.
And I think Zach Parker is a tough cookie. He's fast, puts his punches together well, uses his range well. And obviously John Ryder is getting older. So it could be a fight where maybe, again, it's going to be going to age and this one.
We're going to see near that. It's probably going to sort of move forward and show that he needs to be stepped up level. So is Ryder going to reduce the masterclass? Let's see.
It's a great fight. Great matchmaker. No three fights. Yeah.
No, it is really, really good fights. If not 50, 50, maybe 60, 40, 50, 45, 45, you know, they're all pretty decent. Yeah, it's a close one. I mean, 100% I think the irony of it is that the headliner is the worst of the matchmaking that's going to be happening on the evening.
So let's see what happens. You never know. We might be totally amazed when it turns into, you know, five years of massive slug first and then going to, you know, times type of that's what are you going to happen? Yeah, it's, you know, an American is he going to be Charles Martin?
Is he going to fall over the first time he gets clipped with a shot? Or is he going to be completely unknown? You know, like a tippy Bradley when, you know, when tippy Bradley come over and beat Junior with all those years ago, he was mandatory for Junior with a knock him down and won a decision over in England. You don't know.
He's one of these kind of unknown Americans. I think he'll be Charles Martin. I think he'll be close to the Charles Martin then tippy Bradley. But we'll see.
We'll see, right. But I'm looking forward to seeing it. I think Anthony Joshua needs a fight similar to this, similar to what Dylan White is getting. Just to get him worked up and, you know, getting back in, getting back going again.
I don't think Joshua needs to jump him with an U-Sick or a Fury or Wilder. He needs to rebuild Joshua. He needs to go in there against someone, like you said, who can cook a pretzcom for something a little bit, maybe some of it at the Messick level who really gets under tips in the build up and then he goes in it and he knocks him out, spark out in like one or two rounds. And then he has another fight and he does the same again.
And people are like, do not discount Joshua. The man's got power. He can do this and do that. And that's it.
I think that's very kind of needs to be heading because if he goes in against Fury, he goes in against and he goes in against U-Sick. Mentally, he might never ever want to fight again. That would be real shame. Yeah, I think you're right.
I do. I do think you're right. I think he just needs to slowly slow you rebuild. He's leaving Robert Garcia.
I think we've suddenly just done it on time, but whatever. He's left Robert Garcia. It sounds like he's not going to be Robert Garcia. He's not going to be his trainer anymore.
Who can you see training him? Would you like training him? There's rumours of Roy Jones. Roy Jones is a really bad fit.
I know it sounds silly. But I think I'm not being biased there because I know the family very well. I think Mark Tims would be a great match for him. The reason I say that is because he's trained in white.
He's got a great team. He's been in the opposite corner of Antony Joshua. And also he's training Johnny Fish at the moment. He's got massive Tommy Fletcher.
He's got some big guys in there. He's got Johnny Henschus as well. So he's got three guys in there between six, five and a half to six foot seven. Hard punches that can, like Johnny Henschus is very fast on his feet.
He's basically slightly over heavyweight. He's got Tommy Fletcher six, seven. Crews away. He hits like a heavyweight.
And then obviously he's got the wrong foot ball. So I think apart from the fact that he had great sparring on site, it's a real gritty gym. He's back in a land and town again. And Mark Tims like take no shit.
If Antony Joshua starts acting like a prima donna, which I doubt very much, he would. He's supposed to be a fantastic lover of the sport in the gym. And it is a great workout. Mark would push him to his maximum to make sure he calls the best out.
But he also makes sure he doesn't overdo himself. And Mark's a great motivator. And I think at the moment Antony needs a little bit of mental coaching. Mark can offer all of that as a one-stop shop without making it sound like he's sitting in a letter chair and having a chat with him.
He would just be talking whilst he's on the job, giving him a little pet talk explaining things to him. And not making it out to be like he's that's way. He's made with a S style surroundings. I've been to the origin gym where they train.
His lovely spits sawdust, but people go in there, they wrap their hands and they're on it straight away. There's no dilly daddies, no entourageies. It's a gym where boxers go in, sometimes the parents come with them. That's it.
People start walking into the gym and they're sort of hanging around, watching a sparring. It's like, well, excuse me, can you fuck off out of here? No, it's not a possible way. So I think Antony Joshua marks his off it.
That'd be a great match up. Do you know what, when I was talking to somebody over there about this, I said exactly the same thing. I said Mark Tims would be the right fit. I think Chamber Gringon's the wrong fit.
And God knows how much you'll want as well. I think maybe ten years ago, if he was ten years younger, Freddie Roach would be a good fit. Because Freddie Roach is a guy that he's an attacking coach. He's someone that takes what you're good at and he just sharpens that.
He doesn't try and change you. You look at what he did with Miguel. You look at what he did with Miguel Cotto. I think what Ami Khan, he took the things that they were good at and he just polished him and it lasts for so long.
But he doesn't try and change you. He's not trying to change you. He's looking like a virtual hunter. Robert Garcia, those guys, they're going to try and change him.
At this point now, you can't change Joshua in who he is. He is who he is. I think it's almost like you know the Rocky thing where that song was it, you know, Tamebag, doo doo doo doo. Take a bag.
He needs some of that. He needs to come back to London. He needs to get back to London. He needs to get back to the Torda Glitz and the Glamour.
He needs to start getting that smell of sweat and blood, sweat and tears moving again. He needs to, you know, he's basically Rocky Balboa in Rocky III after being knocked out by Mr. T. And he needs a Apollo Creed in there to get an Ida Tiger back from him.
He's, I think that Anthony Joshua will have a lot to offer, but he needs to get his head in the right place first. And having yes people around him, which unfortunately is on to her, I was doing all that already, marks him to one of those people. So yeah, Mark, if you're out there, do the business. Nah, I'd like to see that.
I agree with you 100%. Just back to the, back to the Zach Parker fight. I was actually, as I was walking home earlier, I was thinking, have I seen Zach? I've not seen him load Zach Parker.
But then I remember I've actually seen him box in the flesh. I saw him on the George Graves because you back on the card about three, four years ago now. But I remember just thinking he got the stoppage in. I think he got a stoppage in too.
But you're right. Who do you, who do you lean in towards? Zach Parker, John Rideau, you lean in towards in that. I mean, age is obviously, you know, a factor here.
And so Zach's going to have better movement or quicker movement, should I say. But John Ride or the veteran, I mean, yeah, he's got five losses against him, John, whereas Zach is unbeaten. So that's kind of says a bit as well, which is, are they feeling John Ride to him or is John Ride a being, you know, Zach Parker being a fifth John Rideau probably gets a former. When, when, when, when, when, when Zach Parker beat Marcus Morrison, that was a bit of a statement.
Marcus Morrison, you know, is not a shit fighter. And I thought he did extremely well there. I thought he did extremely well. And he's got quite a high knockout ratio as well as Zach.
So in terms of home lean to, I'm going to go 55 or 60% to Zach Parker. I don't think it's going to be one more traffic. No, I agree. I think it's, I think it's a close fight.
I think John Rideau, John Rideau, him and Danny Jackson's was a close fight. I thought it was a pretty close fight, which John Rideau got a decision. He's not, that was in February. I don't think Danny Jacobs is boxing, he's done really well, 168.
And it's actually been unfortunate that he hasn't had a world title fight until this point, you know, and even this is an interim title fight. So looking at it, but I do think Zach Parker might just be that bit too fresh and that bit too young and I think that hands speed might be the difference. I can see Zach Parker actually getting him out of there. I think he might stop him.
I don't think it'll be, I don't think it'll be a washing by any means. I don't think he's going to dominate him. I think he might find the stoppage just because like you said, a lot of, a lot of wear and tear on John Rideau now. A lot of tough fights and out of division that he's not natural at, you know, he was a wasn't middleweight, wasn't he?
He's okay. It's super middle. We've done well, super middle. Yeah, I think Zach Parker might get stoppage.
I think he might get stoppage. Yeah, I mean, so Rideau's like four years old at the moment and you know, the thing, the age difference actually will make, you know, will be a factor in there. But let's not forget, as you said, Danny Jake was having a favorite this year. And he won a split decision, but he got extremely well, extremely extremely well.
But if you look at his losses along the way, when I was ringside when he lost against Rocky Fielding, and to be honest, the majority of people ringside thought that he'd actually won that. But he was fighting in Rocky's backyard and the fair place rock. I know, Rockin, he's not going to find him more on his person. He wasn't arguing.
He thought well when it was a close fight, but most people thought that John had won it. So with the exception of when he got knocked out by Nick Blackwell, which was his only stoppage, and that was almost a bit of a shock, a stoppage for everyone at a time, when he did that, he's phenomenally durable. And I think Zach Parker, if you've been to this phenomenal scout, it really is. And it kind of propels him into the world's contention because according to many, basically, as far as Super Middle School at the moment, John Rideau's probably done a number one.
Do you tell him? Yeah, no, I think that's fair. I think it's actually one of those divisions that we've done really well at traditionally. Super Middle has been something that we've always been at the top of the tree.
Obviously, can't let the undisputed champion now. And Calum Smith had a title, George Rose had a title. And we did well, but now he's just kind of just taken it all over. But he's going to be fighting Bivol, so this could be a full-world title for Jack Zach Parker if WBO ends up stripping him.
So it's a world title fight. It could be a world title fight in every meaning. So yeah, I think for Zach Parker, or for John Rideau, I think it's a big fight for them. And I fancy my car, but it wouldn't be surprising to John Rideau if John Rideau wins the fight at all.
It's really, really close fight, really competitive. And I'm looking forward to it. I just don't know how I'm going to watch it. It's going to be like in the arena watching Dylan White and then trying to find it on my phone, trying to watch it on my phone at the same time.
And it was actually really weird, you know, Paul, the other day I was talking to some of the guys. And I was talking about, I think it was Victor Ortiz against Andre Berto. And I watched it on my little media player. And it was what's called a creative Zen.
They were always like the iPods before. They were kind of the alternative to iPods. And I watched that on this little media player on the train. And then it got me thinking, what are some weird ways that you've had to watch your fight over the years?
Is it? You talked about that. I mean, I remember watching, I had to walk to Walkman Train Station to where I live in Sabre. It's about three mile walk, trains all working in Sabre.
And it was the World Boxing Super Series. And I remember the Nui fight. Come on. And you're not these around, some of like 90 seconds.
And I just remember, whenever I see that fight, I always remember, I just started walking over Walkman Bridge at the time. And I didn't even make it over the entire length of the bridge before Nui knocked him out. No, I wasn't walking with my phone in landscape mode. So I got across.
But other times, in terms of, I'm talking about watching a fight, probably the most embarrassing thing is that EDO2, so promoters don't often stick to the shed in terms of timings. And which is not great for a lot of people now because we've got to get these things called the train home. And so I remember for a few times at Boxing month late, I'd be there ringside. And I think it was Daniel DuBois playing against Nathan Gorman.
And he should have been on about 10-30, but it didn't start to about, fricking, quarter past 11. I worked out to a science, wherever I was sitting in the O2, that I could sprint out, they'd get to the train. And then get to, walk a little and get the very last train to our new two at about quarter past midnight. If I was lucky, Nick would get a sandwich from somewhere.
But otherwise, that was it. So about half past 11, only about two and a half rounds ago. I'm like, shit, I've got to run. So for the rest of that time between on the train and everywhere else, I had to watch the rest of the Anthony Josh, so the Nathan Gorman Daniel DuBois fight on my phone and actually be writing as if I was ringside for it.
So everyone would think I'm there, but actually, I'm as a state at home, I should have to fucking fight there because it was either that or I was going to be sleeping around North Greenwich at night. I've done that a few times. I have done that a few times. Have you, when at your time in boxing monthly, would you cover cards from home?
Or did you always try to cover the mini arena? I'm 95% of the time I try and get certified to life and same at all to a daily sport as well. And the smaller halls are usually much better in terms of organizing time. I mean, I remember with Mickey Helia sometimes to be like, that's going to be a late night, it's like 15 people on, 15 fights on the card.
And you get there and you build it up with that fight, what was that? What was that? What was that? I said, let a guy some bar going to turn up or something, you know, more money or whatever.
It's been some sort of an issue. And there'd be a few people with S there to watch and then get kind of collared into maybe doing an exhibition with someone. But someone like the York court was always great because they have to finish at 11, because of the residents with the council, they're stipulated that fights have to finish at 11. So if a fight, when all of that was some sort of an initiative, I'd have no bit of crowd problem or whatever else, unless the fighter in question can guarantee that he's going to knock someone out and say three rounds and that fight have to be postponed.
Simple as that. That's how stringent it is at the York court. And you kind of wish that the likes of the O2 and the promoters there would maybe take a leaf out of the book there as well, sometimes and say, listen, if you're not ready to fight now, then it's going to be cancelled, you know? So, yeah, it's happened a few times.
It happened a few times. Yeah, I remember watching the lead to the Nair against the Nair the first one. I was coming up to record with you actually. I think it was at the peacock.
And some I was shouting on the train headphones on watching this fight. It was on Sky Sports at 11am or something. And I remember watching that and being like, oh God, because it was just the most ridiculous fight and it was so back and forth. But anyway, and actually that was announced.
I think that was announced today. A new way to fight Paul Butler December 13th, I think it's like a Tuesday afternoon or something for the undisputed Bantamweight title. What a job opportunity for Paul Butler, right? Yeah, it's a good one for trying.
But yeah, let's be honest. I mean, it's best names for many years behind him. But if he can get a massive paid outfit, then fantastic. It seems like a lovely lad.
But it's a newy. Let's just put the other number illusion there. It is a newy. End of story.
So I wish him the very best. I would love to see him. We're in a week of upsets here at the moment. Saudi Arabia, beat in Argentina, Japan beat in Germany.
It'd be lovely to add Paul Butler beat in a newy on that list. I couldn't think of any other better headlight at the moment. I'd love him to prove me wrong a thousand percent. But realistically, don't get some right.
No, I think he deserved a night head. I think he deserved a night head. If Paul Butler in station do like Saudi Arabia, they should give everyone a national holiday. I think that'd be worthy.
Absolutely. Paul Butler day. I think he would have earned it. I mean, yeah, absolutely.
I think the biggest challenge for a newy is going to be making weight. If he makes weight, which I'm sure he will, then he's going to stop Paul Butler in three rounds because he's that good. And that's no discredit to Paul Butler. He's just in against top three.
The monster top three for Best White is in the world right now. It's going to be a newy. A newy too. And then can I know?
But yeah, it's an incredible thing around this summer as well. But yeah, anyways, I'm on star and he's probably going to stop by that. And then he's going to jump to superband him and then we're going to see him do crazy shit. Superband him and I can't wait.
Yeah. Actually, another thing that's coming up as well is Tank Davis against Ryan Garcia. They're both going to have like tune-ups and tanks not taking an easy fight. He's absolutely not taking an easy fight.
They're both having tune-ups. But saying they both come through them, that's a hell of a fight, isn't it? I mean, we talked about this one before and I was still favour Tank based on his last performance from when he first started boxing. But yeah, Ryan Garcia, listen, he got fast hands but he can't be clipped.
Luke Campbell did clip him, put him down. Tank is just a little bit too ring-savvy. He's very, very unforgiving in there as well. If you see one moment of weakness or he also computes information extremely quickly, he'll be able to send a cruise, let Leo throw the other punch once to his band counter with the uppercut game over.
So yeah, if it happens at the moment, I'll go with Tank. Yeah, I agree. I think Tank's really underrated as a fight. I think that's his own fault to an extent or his team's fault because they've not got him the fights where he can prove his skill level.
But you watch him fight, the way he's able to slip shots, the way he's able to kind of get inside, you know, particularly if he's naturally smaller than a lot of other people, he does not have the longest reach. But he always seems to find a way inside and pretty much always finds the knockout as well. There's only Isaac Cruz that managed to go the distance with him. I think everybody wants to see that rematch at some point.
But yeah, I agree with you. I think you'll stop Ryan Garcia. I just don't think Ryan Garcia has been, has had the fights to prepare him for someone like Tank. But I really want, I'm really happy for both of them, particularly Tank.
I'm really happy for him because he needs something like this. He needs a big meg fight to get out for. And I think maybe other promotions are really letting down. I think he's just messing him around really.
And I like, actually, I'd like to see him go to Top Rank and that's kind of sounds dirty. It's almost like going from, you know, top to Arsenal. But I think he'd be much better suited going and working with a fucking proper promoter that actually will get him regular fights. It's some pay and really well.
Yeah, he's getting paid really well with maybe I'm sure of it. But, you know, Top Rank, they're not skin-flitting their fight. All the best lightweights are over there. David Haines over there.
Not my Chende Coes over there. You know, I think he's a natural lightweight. I'd like to see him go over there and make some money and make some big fights. But I'm really, really excited for that.
That's always worth a trip. Yeah, okay. Let's quickly, let's just talk about a couple of bits that's kind of happened in the last couple of weeks or so that we've not been able to cover. Let's start off with Natasha Jonas' card at the other week.
She's got three of the four world titles now, Paul. And she's now kind of looking at McCasquil. She's looking at Kait Taylor. She seems to be starting, you know, she's Clarissa Shields.
That's starting to get spoken about now. What kind of an upturf in Natasha Jonas, I'd say, considering that she's got stopped. It's been amazing, isn't it, kind of the redemption arc? Absolutely phenomenal.
I mean, she's so young as old, but she had that loss earlier, because she had to remember as well. She's only had 16 professional fights, of which she's won for 13. Now, when she lost against Vivian Obernop, she got absolutely obliterated. She's got a loss she's had.
You've got to think about. And that was only what, about six or seven fights inside. People start to think, oh, well, you know, that's it. And to be honest, I kind of did think that as well, because she was really like, well, 35 at that point.
And you're thinking, well, that age was the chance to have sort of bouncing back. So, and then all of a sudden, she has this draw with Terry Harper, which for the record, I thought she won. As if many other people, you kind of tell by the look of Terry Harper's face versus Natasha Jonas and also, you know, the place for her. You know, the place for her, you kind of got impression.
She was almost sort of saying, I was lucky there. But then, then she fights Kait Taylor. And that fight, you know, it's an Adams decision, but normally close. And again, could have easily, easily gone to her and Natasha as well.
But she, you know, like the song, you know, she got down. She got up again. You know, I'm talking more mentally here. She carries on.
She has a cup of tune up fights. And, well, in fact, she has one tune up fighting for the WBO. Vaykin's super well-weight title against NamUs. And wins.
And then she's been clocking up straps ever since. Yeah, the Mary Eve, be careful. To be honest, it was not the case at one side. I thought she put on a little bit of a masterclass.
But I honestly believe as well that she was in with some of the people who really didn't do it. Harry Vaykin's in terms of, I guess, stepping stones. So now she's got the belt. So, that's what gives you the financial attraction.
That will be her stepping stone. Even though the last three fights have been accumulating straps, I've been against names of any note. But now we're talking about possible rematch against Kate. And now we're talking about, I mean, Clarissa Shields are calling her out the other day saying, you want to do it?
You know, let's go in. Paying up compliments saying, I think it'll be a good fight. I'll win. She said, but I think it'll be technically a better box than Savannah Marshall.
Yeah, I think it's a case for that without a doubt. But at the moment, I think, put Natasha Jonas in with anybody. And she's going to give him a good fight. She really is.
I think this will keep her away from Phoobu and Ouro, because I think she's a booby lady. Yeah, I think that's fair. Stay away from her. But other than that, just Karen as well.
It's almost like the MA can't kind of really express got kind of thing, you know, some, you know, that happened. Put it behind you. Forget all about it. It happened.
I don't see the Terry Harbour fight happening. I don't think it's going to happen. I just don't think so. I think she's been quite, Jonas has been quite vocal about how she felt she was treated by Mattram, financially, particularly.
She's been quite open about that. Quite, you know, quite broken about it. I don't think that she's going to do business with him again. I think she's quite happy boxing on Sky.
Why would she want to box on the zone? She can box on Sky. She probably gets paid more money for boxing on Sky. The Coressia Shield fight, I think, is the biggest fight.
It could be like me, though. She would be the reigning champion. I think Coressia Shield would jump down to their no problem at all. She's boxed up 154 before.
She's been undefeated down there before. I think it's going to be Shields or Jessica McCaskell. Jessica McCaskell was obviously still undisputed. World's way champion despite losing to Chantal Cameron the other week.
I think it's one of those two. I don't think it's very hard for her to fight. I don't think she works really hard again. I just don't see it.
I don't. I don't know what I'd want to see her fight. I think she'd beat McCaskell. I think that'd be a good fight.
I mean, the mode obviously, switching from one fight to the other way. When Chantal Cameron fought the other time, McCaskell win she lets her hands go. She drops her hands exactly the same time. They're trying to do very well to do firstly not get Coressia.
You can see McCaskell kept urging her to come in and go take some time. Which Chantal Cameron is very good at doing. But she also been given instructions. She's been on the jacket, she pays attack in bunches in certain times.
She did that. McCaskell was going a little bit windy-ish, to be honest. They're interested at the hands go. The guard disappeared and someone like Natasha Jones will be very unforgiving for us.
I think it would be a very good fight. It's like how much more can Natasha Jones go on? She's approaching. She starts to clock up to 40 here.
She's suddenly thinking she's probably jubilated. I think it's fantastic. She's one of the nicest people you could ever meet. The male female boxer, whatever, just as a person.
She's absolutely lovely. She really is. When she does finish boxing, which I've never made in her mid 50s, I really hope she gets her position in punditry. I'm even training other fighters.
I think she's so much that often. Not the intelligence, are we? I'd want to see a couple of really nice pay packets. Rack up some more belts.
I think it was my skill level. I think people like her. I think there's very few people like her and Katie Taylor and Clarissa Shields. I think those guys with that amateur style that know how to control range, that know how to have good shots selection.
Actually, at this point in terms of the women's boxing evolution, if you like, those fights are actually quite rare. That's why I think Chantel Cameron was able to make McCaskell to be blunt. She was so much better than McCaskell just at the fundamentals and footwork and shot selection and controlling range. Cameron was miles better.
I think Jonas would do the same thing to her. I think she'd make McCaskell look silly. I think she'd become undisputed world-swiped champion, which is why I'd like to see that for her and then go fight Clarissa Shields. Even if you fight Clarissa Shields at middleweight, just go nuts.
Do it. Henry Armstrong. Just go nuts. Just go for it.
I'd fight at 154, which I think both of them would do. You know what, let's have it at 160. Let's have it for the middleweight title. You have to remember as well.
When she goes to Vietnam, that was at 5.130 pounds. Then she challenged at 135. Then she moved up to well to everyone, thinking it's a step too far enough. She racked up all the belts.
You couldn't have written it. You really couldn't have written it. No, she's done really well. I'm sure she's made a few quid now.
They'll keep her on doing punditry, skydnopro that's all. They'll definitely keep her on. You can see how much they really like having her. She's great.
She's great when she does the punditry as well. I was really, really pleased for her. Actually, I wanted to ask you about Zelfabari. We're going to jump around a bit.
You guys have to make pizza with that. We're going to jump around a bit. I thought Zelfabari and I've been quite critical of him because I felt he lost too. I can't remember who it was, but I felt he lost the fight.
They should have. Was it Kecomarnus? I doubt it by Zelfabari. I got myself mixed up with the Lewis-Ritzen robbery.
I actually think Zelfab proved himself at world level the other night. I don't know what you thought. Yeah, absolutely. Listen, the Martinez fight he lost.
It's what makes it more ridiculous is the fact that the scorecard, 2-0, 118-1, 11, and the other one was 1-16-1, 13-1, 16-1, 13 was more plausible, but still wrong. Kecomarnus, he did the business. He's another one. He's the main equivalent of Natasha Jonas.
The age he's at, he's suddenly coming through and he's like fifth time European champion or something. But against Rakimov, it's a quite funny moment in there. If you play it back and listen to the other's own commentary in the third rounds, about whatever the knockdown was with Zelfab, the Yankees going, yeah, they need to go for the body. When you've got someone coming to watch you like this, you need to go for the body, man.
I don't know what he's doing, but the head needs to go for the body, the body. And literally as he's gassing on about the body, the body, Zelf goes, ping when an uppercut and Rakimov's gone down. So that commentator must have been thinking, yeah, I should probably just try a little bit more general here and not so specific because literally he did the exact opposite of what he was saying and it put down. And to be honest, it was another uppercut earlier in the round, also did the damage.
That round there was one that he'll always look back on and think that's where I could become one champion. I think Zelfab certainly improved since the other Martinez fight without doubt. He progressed as a fighter, he boxed very well against Rakimov. He's only 29.
But I think to be honest, that may be one that will look over his shoulder, say, what's that? The closest I've got to winning a world title. I'd like to think he might come back and do something. Rakimov is probably one of the more static targets that he could have done something with, but unfortunately it didn't happen.
Rakimov was poor in the first three or four rounds. He was poor. And I think he came into the fight with quite a good reputation and people were kind of worried for Barrett. But Barrett actually I thought proved himself at that level.
Maybe not top-top world class, but he proved himself at that kind of level that he belonged at least. But it looked like from about round, pretty much the beginning. It looked pretty much from the beginning. Other than the knockdown, it looked like a late stoppage kind of fight that Barrett would get stopped.
And the reason I say that is it was the feet he was running. He was running Barrett. The way he was using his feet, he was circling so much. And using his feet so much, you could see he was going to get stopped late.
Because that guy Rakimov just was not coming. He was happy to just walk him down. Yeah, he wasn't his best performance Rakimov. But once he started to find his range and he started to slow Barrett down, it was over.
And he just used too much energy on his bike, basically. I'm not saying he was running not wanting to over fight, but the way he used his feet, it was only going to end that way. He was always going to get stopped. He was going to guess and he was going to get stopped.
You could just see it. And that's exactly what kind of happens about it. I thought he did really well. I think I'm sorry.
Yeah, I totally agree. One other one that I don't forget about as well. I'm an dental went there. It was added to the side back.
I'm going to try and pronounce the surname. Alan Kanuli. That's tough cookie. But I thought they had done really well.
He ran out of gas a little bit for the first time. They both gone 12 rounds. They have done more than 10 before. And memory serves me correct.
