EP 18: How to end imposter syndrom

from Coming Out Gold · host Tammy Hall

Are you a woman who feels like an imposter in her own story, constantly afraid of being “found out"? Have you fallen victim to what this world calls imposter syndrome? Are you ready to be a woman sure of herself, her gifts, and the role she plays in her story? If you're ready to stop questioning yourself and your value, to stop running from the “not enough” and "who do you think you are” voices inside your head so she can put one foot in front of the other in the direction of the life she wants. This topic has come up in so many conversations lately, and I have heard so many women speaking on the feelings of imposter syndrome.  It is a bit of a buzzword right now in the self-improvement arena and may be as common as breathing in women.  In my work as a coach specializing in identity and purpose coaching, I have come to recognize this as a pervasive problem among women.  As we begin to understand our true identity and get to know the woman we were designed to be, we learn to see this with a different lens.  This allows us to address the emotions and make a plan to dispel them. Here is the three-step plan: Acknowledge these feelings wherever they pop up Understand the root cause Speak truth to the lie. Follow these three steps to find freedom from what’s holding you back so you can share your gifts with the world.  Then you will find success in these areas: Stop doubting your seat at the table Increase your confidence Gain clarity around decision making Have a clear direction for forward momentum Learn to trust yourself Embrace imperfection as part of life Know and use your gifts Today you can put an end to imposter syndrome! The stigma of mental health within those who serve in the shadow of the cross is something that invokes the stigma of fear. Many of those in the clergy will choose to suffer in their despair rather than reaching out for help. Sometimes those suffering choose to wait until it's too late to get the real help that they need. At Wounded Warriors of the Cross our mission is to lift the stigma and the veil of silence that encompasses clergy mental health and assist those who suffer in silence. Wounded Warriors of the Cross is here to shed the light of Christ's love into those dark places.
