God restores not only Jacob’s relationship with Esau, but Jacob’s sense of hope and identity. We see that God is a force of renewal and we’re in need of reformation. It’s fitting for Reformation Sunday (this weekend). The church affirmed a God who is always doing new things and walks with us even when we go off-course.
