Ep 216: Jesus Is Divisive

from The Carry On Cast · host Easter Lutheran Church

Pastors Steve and Megan discuss John 7:37-52. Jesus is telling a crowd that he is the living water, the Messiah. The crowd is divided saying “Surely the Messiah does not come from Galilee, does he?” Some in the crowd were hung up on the belief that the Messiah was supposed to be from Bethlehem. Human desire to hold on to power and create hierarchy creates infighting and big problems for the religious authorities. The church of today isn’t exempt from these issues. Let’s not get hung up on the institutional stuff and just be the body of Christ in the world.
