Ep. 3 - Kaleigh Schrock: So I Said Something To Their Bench...
from Pressing The Limits Podcast
Kaleigh Schrock won three championships during his career as a hockey player. He captained Neumann University program to an NCAA Division III National Championship (2008-2009) before being signed professionally by his hometown team, the Fort Wayne Komets, and leading them to an IHL Championship (2009-2010) and a CHL Championship (2011-2012). Schrock played 439 games over six seasons for the Komets, collecting 81 goals, 152 points...and 854 penalty minutes. Regarded as a speedy, tenacious forward and something of an underdog, Schrock was named the Komets Rookie of the Year for the 2009-2010 championship season. Schrock captained the Komets from late 2013 until his retirement in 2015. After his professional playing career, Coach Schrock stayed in Fort Wayne to oversee youth programs at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse as well as at the Trine University rink, where he was also the assistant arena manager. He also found the time to coach the Summit City Panthers to an Indiana State High School Championship (2017-2018). The Fort Wayne Spacemen of the USPHL Premier Hockey League hired Schrock to be their first head coach in June 2019. The Fort Wayne Komets was inducted Schrock into the Komets Hall of Fame in March 2020.
