That was fucking brilliant. So, T. Alex and Kyle here, we are live. And you have the map of Usek Goyu, where Usek scoring an 8th round knockout victory over a very brave and very competent Tony Bay tonight.
T, give us your immediate reaction. So happy. So very happy. But, in all seriousness, it's a very good fight.
I don't think both guys are in their wild birds. There's no excuses, you know, in defeat for either man. But, now it's a great night and I'm just happy that I've seen you use it in his pump. He was, I was going for a show with him early on, Kyle.
I felt with Usek, I mean, I felt we weren't seeing why I was going to handle this back from him. But, I think it looked like the game plan was to be patient and kind of work very well in his own time and go from there. You can see from round one that Usek was trying to drop straight right hands to the body. Because I think the plan was to do exactly what he did to take value out late.
I think he was trying to drop it down low, but drop the shots down low. But, Belio's feet were really good. He was just land shots, pot shots, step off. Plus his jab was really, really working well tonight.
I think Usek really struggled with the range and he really struggled with Belio's feet. It's a much different kind of fight to Gassy. I guess he has very much come forward hands up, very much made. I think that's where Belio was happy to circle his way around the ring and try to just pop shot in landing shots.
Usek took his time, but from around, I think round four, I gave Usek every round from round four to the finish. I think from round four, I'm excited to find his race, I'm excited to find that left hand. And from the start around eight, you can see it coming. I think, but we were all saying to you and Nervous, you and Nervous as those rounds were going on, because though you won those first three rounds, I think it's probably fair to say.
And he looked way to be comfortable and Usek looked comfortable as well, and I was saying he wasn't. But, he was just, I don't know, just looking like he was like a little bit is it. If you look at that, it was just being patient. I think it was tactical, I think it was tactical.
I think it was just a style thing. I think the Gassy fight made Usek look like a million dollars, and because he just continuously threw round off the round off the round. This was a different style, this was a different style fight tonight. And I think Usek behaved like a true champion, a true great champion, patience.
Not enough, not many fighters have patience like that. And that's what Usek showed tonight, he showed great patience, great timing, and he got the job done. He was really well in the knockout too. Oh, it was glorious, but I think I was so nervous, I didn't clearly see it coming, but the side of it, then he was getting marked up.
Usek was finding his range of beauty of Usek is that he always works people out all the time, and there's always patience. And it changed his method slightly, but I just didn't expect it to be a KO like that. I thought it would be, I thought it might be a few not downs, but like flash not down. It's not going to be a complete, you can't have a barely beat account, you know what I mean?
But, I think it shows, I never really saw Usek as a spiteful punch either, but it was hurting him quite a bit. He sat him up with the job, sat him up with the job, and then it was a big big left hand that came over. Overbelly's right, dropped and caught him and he landed. It was a heavy not down, not down landed, he's left, very fresh.
And that was that. He did try to get back up with the early doors, as he might hear a chin out, he'd see Deja's door again to ring to console his mates only value, but very, very fascinating to watch, all the way through a moment. He was just, he was such a great chess match, and you can see from the early doors that Usek respected value's power. He knew that he was a punch out, he knew that he carried power, and Usek respected that.
And so you can see he was taking his time, he would faint a lot, which Usek does anyway, he was showing a lot of faints, trying to drop the straight right to the body, but he wasn't completely committing to anything really, even though he was leading a lot of the rounds off, he wasn't really committing, he wasn't showing enough spite, especially with the left hand. He was seeing him kind of pull with a jab, pull with a right, he just wasn't really throwing like many spiteful shots. But as it went on, I think then he got tired, then he got tired in the first hayfight when he was following around a one-legged hay, and he got tired tonight. I think you can see him, you can get tired from around around six, Usek's tired to find his range a bit more than, and when not out came there, it was spectacular.
It was just a joy to be able to watch him, and friends of being in the UK ring, and for us to be able to be close and personal with someone with huge talent. Let's wrap up and just say, I mean, I couldn't know what to face for a good bite speech in the ring, he's still being more by fans now as he walks out. From where he came from, I've been talking about it earlier, obviously on the way up in the car, but from where he's come from to various tonight, I mean, any home to call him a true great in the ring, which I know you weren't massively keen on, but a true great of British boxing in this world now? I think he's in terms of British boxing, he's up there, maybe a top 20 perhaps, you know, it's a good little bit true great in the sport, it's a little bit.
I think Eddie Holmes is getting caught up in the emotion and that's fine, and I think that that sums up how he does nothing. There is a lot about that, a moment in the event, and everything around it rather than the talent of the boxing kind of prowess that powers it, as you can hear him walk out of the arena now. See how you remember Tony Bowe? It's a curvy not bad.
But, I think, from the first time, cleverly defeat, I think he knows me, he mentioned Eddie, and he left for him, he joined the fledgling match in I believe, at the time. The second one behind Calbrook, I think. Eddie Holmes believed in him, and he paid his faith by winning, and he also would be a fake at once. We didn't really talk in the one he fought.
He thought it was good, he could have, he's one of the best guys of all time, not the best. I think I've got to go to John Conti, but the city of Liverpool loves him, being here tonight, and I say he's got his own name and all, just love Ben so much. He just had so much support and so much love for him and it's lovely to see. Yeah, good luck to him.
He's home safe, everyone's home safe. One way did, he retired after Haven's gone and took a fight, didn't he, they'd taken. Now we move on, move on to the next, which would be the next big domestic side of things, and they would be wanting to do it. We would catch you up before that, any fight before it's okay, any for us to say?
Not really, just a repeat, what you said really, it was a pleasure to watch a great fight, Alex Andy, who's sick of a pound for pound, top five, five. It was just great to see someone with such class, with such patience, with such tactical now. Good job on a Tony Bayou that had lost in his last ten fights, that was on form, that was in his home town. And Billy did better than I thought he would, so congrats to Billy as well.
Billy did well but you sick of some bad man. Yeah, sorry, I think 2018 is going to be this as backyard, that says backyard and bellies, backyard. And I think 2018 has got to be the final of the year for me. What's next for you, Zick?
Well, I guess I'll probably move up now. Can he make an impact to Harvey? I would like to think so, he's got the movement. Honestly he's got a side to survive against AJ, Fury and Mordor but it would be interesting to see.
Good stuff. Okay, we're going to catch you next time. If I were doing this in, it's been a great night, and it's obviously many more nights like this together as a team. It was nice.
It was a time ago. That's a great trip man. We'll see you soon, take care. In 2026, Dentyne, Chew Bold.
