Are you one of those people that brags (or complains) about working "80 hour weeks"?

Our business culture tends to glorify "grinding". Working all day, then bringing our laptop home to work after dinner.

The reality though, for nearly all of us, is we're not actually working "80 hours a week". For a lot of it, we're really just spinning our wheels and going through the motions.

Many of us, if we're honest with ourselves, look back over a long, "busy" week, and struggle to identify what we actually accomplished. How did we move the needle, and what kind of actual impact did we have on our business?

The reality- most of us, even high achievers, have 4 to 5 hours of our BEST WORK every day. We have 4 to 5 hours where we bring our full focus, our full creativity, our full drive. Maybe you're extraordinary and you've got 6-8 hrs in you.

Whatever your true capacity is- it's probably a whole lot less than 80 hours a week. And if that's true, how do you need to rethink your work and how you're prioritizing your time?

How should you structure your day for maximum impact?

Talking Movies with My Mom Two Bells Media Talking Movies with My Mom™ is not another movie review podcast. Instead, newbie filmmaker Jackson Bell and his mom, Tamara, choose a topic – such as action anime, worst sequels, and directors’ first movies – then each pick movies based on that topic and watch them together. What started as a family tradition has become a weekly podcast where we spill our thoughts in enthusiastic, entertaining, and definitely unexpected give-and-takes. Join us as we put the FUN in FUNctional family while talking movies, sometimes with other movie-loving guests, but always from a "head" (Jackson) and "heart" (Tamara) perspective. Sometimes, she can be quite optimistic, and sometimes there tends to be a pessimistic cloud over her head that in most cases, refuses to leave her alone; in psychology it's called bipolar psychosis, but to Mia, it's merely the story of her life; coping and living with it. We're trying to change the outlook on mental health, one word at a time.My name is Jake and I will be your host! I'm not a doctor and don't have qualifications in this field, however I have lived with anxiety/depression for 10 years as of March 2024 (which will be my 26th birthday). As a young man who struggles daily with what goes on inside my own head, I fall into the most 'at risk' group identified by a number of authorities for mental health issues and suicide risk, so I hope that by talking openly about this it can help even one person and then it will all be worth it. I will talk about any/all topics related to mental health - primarily men's but there will be branches and tangents don't worry!
