Ep.53 AWA SuperClash III

Join Ontario independent wrestling personality, Bill Chase, as he takes you on an ongoing journey throughout his years as a wrestling fan from 1987 all the way to today. On this episode, Bill reminisces about the time in the late fall of 1998, when he popped in a VHS tape of a show that took place in 1988, AWA SuperClash III.  This of course was the company's attempt in partnership with Memphis & World Class to make a run at the Pay Per View industry and trying to be competitive with the WWF and NWA at the time.  The huge main event was built around a title unification match between AWA Champ Jerry "The King" Lawler taking on World Class Champ Kerry Von Erich. Bill talks about his first time reactions seeing these matches, and of course what he learned about this whole fiasco years down the road.
