Ep# 72 - Jesus Died For Everyone, BUT...

The podcast this week, “Christian Contradictions: Jesus died for everyone, BUT that only applies to those who believe it,” is ready! The podcast looks at what happened on the cross (and when) from an eternal perspective, and is going to challenge some traditional doctrines about salvation. What is the difference between believers and non-believers, really? Much of the Western church fails to read the New Testament Scriptures in the context in which they were written - with two covenants still in place (the Old Covenant didn’t end until 70 A.D.), and thereby project many of the Scriptures that were written to a people who were still under the sacrificial covenant on to our modern day, when we are ONLY under the New Covenant. This week’s podcast will be looking at the sacrifice of Jesus from a Cristo-centric lens, which changes everything! Here’s what the Scriptures say: • We have always been chosen by God, since before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:3-11) • Jesus was crucified before Adam fell (Revelation 13:8) • We have been predestined, called, justified, glorified (Romans 8:29-30) • We were crucified with Jesus (Galatians 2:20) • We were raised with Jesus and we are in Him (Colossians 3:1-4) • We are separated ONLY IN OUR MINDS (Colossians 1:19-22) “We,” meaning humanity...this is the co-identification of humanity in Christ. The cross was a universal act by Jesus Christ, for all people. But when does one experience that? When is one ‘saved’? After the alter call?
