Recognizing the untapped potential of the blind and visually impaired (BVI) community, he founded Blind Institute of Technology (BIT) to challenge stereotypes, break down employment barriers, and promote equity for disabled professionals in corporate America.Under Mike's leadership, BIT has secured major corporate and federal grants, including an $8M Disability Innovation Fund grant, significantly expanding workforce accessibility programs for professionals with disabilities. Mike Hess, a tech industry veteran with over 20 years of experience managing multi-million-dollar projects for Fortune 500 companies, noticed a troubling trend – he was often the only blind professional in the room.
