Ep# 78 - God Gave Us Free Will, BUT...

In this week’s podcast, “God gave us free will, BUT God is in control,” I expose the heresy of Christian Contradiction No. 9. If you think God is “in control,” you’ve been duped and you’re not catching what the Gospel actually tells us. I know “heresy” is a strong word, and you may really be reacting to that, but listen... As Christians, many of us tend to comfort ourselves and others when we feel out of control with, “it’s God’s will.” But, it’s not true and it just produces a passiveness in the body of Christ. Please hear me, God is not in control. Now, this is not about the sovereignty of God. God is absolutely sovereign. But in His royal lordship over all, He has given dominion and control of the planet over to mankind. In this podcast, I talk about: • The scriptural proof that God is not “in control” (Genesis 1:26-28, Luke 4:6, 2 Corinthians 4:3) • Where control went as a result of Adam’s fall • Why we have freedom and are not controlled by God (hint: there is no love in control) • The authority we have on this planet through our union with Jesus • Why the recognition of and yielding to our union with Jesus is so important Let me say it again. God is not in control. BUT, the god of this world has been defeated by Jesus and all authority has been given to Him. BUT, Jesus is not in control because the enemy is still loose on the planet...defeated but loose. The fact is, WE are the expression of Jesus’ dominion on the Earth, the body of Christ. The fact is, God’s will is not automatic. It happens to the extent that WE are yielded in our union with Him as expressors of Him through the Holy Spirit as sons of God. It’s up to us to be the vessels through which Jesus can express Himself on the planet. If you’re waiting on God to do something, you have to listen to this podcast!
