Summary
original Standby episode: ep.0 Standby: puntino rossoA red dot that sees everything. This is a standby. The only time that the red dot does not look is when we are concentrated on looking at the screen or when the device is busy. Basically we are a constant standby, we just don't realize it and everything that happens when we aren't concentrated we forget or really don't store it, because a pipe doesn't need it anyway. But no! The things we should be most aware of are the very things that happen when we are unaware. If I react without thinking it would be good for me to be aware that that reaction takes place in the best possible way, otherwise it is one of those situations in which we then find ourselves paying disproportionate consequences or apologizing because we have exaggerated. Standby is a moment of conscious pause between one bullshit and another, with the hope that each bullshit can slowly become genius and the standby is the moment in which we turn it into an anecdote. Standby is everywhere we find ourselves, he is a fixed character in our life narrative, but he is also a silent witness, with little character, because in standby we never invite him, always by chance. Standby is a condition without which we could not recover the energy to do what we do, more or less well, during our days, so why not do it by thinking about this blessed standby that the witness does it anyway, might as well ask him for his opinion every once in a while. Standby wants to get involved, standby means "don't get involved" and instead it's the only piece of us that we haven't yet allowed to get involved and maybe by letting it happen we could become better people, or maybe not, but let's at least try. A regular appointment with a break, with stopping meddling with what's happening and trying to meddle with what's supposed to happen, turning the system back on and making it happen. Motivating? I do not know. Energizing? I have no idea. Fun? I doubt it. Useless? Probably. Interesting enough to try? No doubt. It's episode 0, which is recorded when everyone else hasn't even thought about it and I already feel like going into standby and letting it go, but I won't because I, how do you get into standby, don't have the time yet faintest idea.Other podcast projects from Michele Battistella and C Reattiva Sono una Fenice IT Soy un fènix ES They're a phoenix EN#Standby original on SpotifyStandby in translation on Spotify english versionModo de Espera on Spotify_standby spanish version more link: Luck Tales Adventures, Michele IG

Standby in translation trailer
09/14/2023
#standby is a podcast designed by Creativa. I am Michele Battistella and I will take you on a journey into the doubts, questions and reflections that arise when you go into #standby, with or without a goal, because what we are actually interested in is just getting in the direction of something? No? #standby is a condition that we activate, like an airplane mode, a state in which we are ready to learn, to reflect, to download. I put myself on standby mode every day and wake up with new ideas. Good, ugly, useful, useless ideas? Old and new, ideas need a #standby time to be able to start their journey. This podcast is the time we need to get new ideas ignited. You will be able to listen to current reflections, considerations, points of view. Outbursts and declarations. Ceremonial carpentry or refined creations. You just have to go to standby, listen, get back up and running.

Fantasy in Translation

brendan@auburncom.com (Brendan McKenna)
We all know that something is always lost in translation, but what is gained when a story transitions from one language and culture to another? Chen Malul tells the story of Israeli pilots who translated The Hobbit while in captivity. Olga Zilberbourg remembers the Soviet version of The Wizard of Oz – which was very different from the original story. Emily Jin discusses the nuances of translating Chinese science fiction at a time when everyday life in China feels like sci-fi. And translators Gord Sellar and Jihyun Park explain how feminism revitalized science fiction literature in South Korea. https://www.imaginaryworldspodcast.org/episodes/fantasy-in-translation

We use a lot of house rules instead of the standard rules in order to make the game more interesting to anyone listening by moving it along faster. The team is awakened before their demise more than 150 years later than expected and team up with a previous surviving project member and a local big game hunter to survive in the world and possibly make it a better place. Equipped with the latest in scientific and military technology when they were frozen in 2018, they have a technological advantage over the few survivors of World War III and the fall of modern society, but is it enough to survive the harsh world that awaits them.

Greg Miller & Kristianne Huntsberger
Two friends have had a book club for a very very long time. It was mostly an excuse to drink and gossip. In January of 2016, they found renewed purpose in their sadness over the death of David Bowie. They decided to stop mucking around and actually get some reading done - from the list of books that he loved.

NOCLIP

NOCLIP
WELCOME TO NOCLIP! We are a fortnightly, book club-styled podcast in which we attempt to go in-depth on an individual video game and figure out what makes it unique. Episodes are around an hour to an hour and a half long and primarily feature free form discussion on themes and mechanics present in each episode’s titular game. Bear in mind that we are not reviewers, so as far as we critique the games at hand, our intent is not to convince you to play any particular work. SPOILER WARNING: Given the depth at which we intend to cover the games in question, those which feature a story, plot, mechanical surprises, fun moments you may not have heard about or otherwise will be fully discussed, likely at length. Given this, it is advised that you go into each episode with the understanding that these elements will most likely be spoiled. If you are sensitive to that sort of thing, we recommend that you either play the game before listening to the podcast, or skip the episode altogether. (Though

Embrace The Void

Embrace The Void
Welcome friends, to a podcast for a darker timeline. Maybe the darkest of all timelines. Definitely not one of the good timelines. Maybe it’s always been a dark timeline, maybe the Hadron collider screwed us over. Science may never know. What we do know is that we live in the void. The void, a place where a chittering mass of void crabs can infest a person suit and win the presidency. The void, a place where we're just clever enough to know that climate change is happening, but not quite clever enough to do anything about it. The void seems terrible and cruel, but it loves you, in its own ironic way.

Anti-wave

Cannonball of Death
Welcome to Anti-wave Podcast, where Robert Cannon + Ira Heffler discuss all your Anti-wave movie needs. What the hell is Anti-wave, you ask? Great question. In short, Anti-wave is a way to describe films that seek to buck the typical Hollywood trends. Anti-wave is an opportunity to reimagine the way we construct genre films. Anti-westerns have been popular in the years since WWII, but where are the anti-sports films that try to shake off the expected formulaic writing? This podcast tries to find those films for you. Along the way, we deliver some laughs, get into film theory, and speak with filmmakers who share our anti-sentiment. So, welcome to Anti-wave Podcast! We hope you enjoy the ride.
