In this episode of the Just Corrections Podcast I sit down with Andy Prisco, founder of Jumpstart Mastery, LLC. about the importance of crisis de-escalation in the correctional environment. Andy is passionate about sharing vital, career and life saving information to First-Responders, Public Safety Professionals, and Care and Services personnel in the development of de-escalation and crisis intervention skills. At a time in our history when 'use-of-force' incidents make national media attention on a daily basis, the need for the development of these skills has never been greater. This area of work is Andy’s calling and purpose. As a Founder of one of the largest, full-time, Psychiatric Emergency Response Team programs (PERT) in the nation, as well as its training program, Advanced Crisis Intervention Team (ACIT), Andy feels privileged to be living his purpose as a change agent for safety and an innovator in violent crisis intervention. He also maintains several credentials as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician, actively responding to all types of public safety emergencies in the community setting. He is an advocate for the safety of people-in-crisis through the very best training that responders can acquire. Following a career in the State's Forensic Care and Services System as a Clinical Training Manager and Quality Manager, Andy founded Jumpstart Mastery, LLC with the goal of bringing together in network community, our cherished servants in public safety, behavioral health, and private sector human services.
