Having retired from the Department of Correction in 2013, he made a significant pivot to the realm of education.  Now serving as an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Ct., Dr. Lawrie's academic expertise is fueled by his extensive background in corrections. We'll explore how his unique perspective enriches the learning experience for his students and contributes to the broader understanding of the criminal justice system.  During the interview, Dr. Jay Lawrie will take us through the pivotal moments in his career that prompted him to pursue higher education after his retirement.
