EP32 When Medication Isn't Enough... Overcoming Brain Surgery | Meg Foreman
from Roll With The Punches · host Tiffanee Cook
I met Meg Foreman in the dog park... where all good friends meet. One day she went back home for a 'holiday'. She was gone quite a while, in fact. Returning a couple of months later yet, little did I know Meg had taken off for brain surgery. Yet, little did I know Meg had digested the words of Dr Charlie Teo that told her quite clearly that this surgery was high risk and if he ran his surgical knife a mm off course inside her skull then she would quite simply 'bleed out on the table and die'. Meg left for her supposed holiday (or so I thought) with a contingency plan in place... in case that happened. But after 7 years of misdiagnosis and countless, often useless medication it was a reward that made that 'risk' pale in comparison. What I love about this chat is how even I, right now as we sit recording this, didn't really know how serious, how recent, how confronting and how challenging her recovery was. We laugh a lot. She's a soft, genuine, empathetic dog-mum that underneath it all holds a level of strength and courage that is sending goosebumps across my skin as I write this of her. Thanks Meg for sharing your story for the first time on my far-from-private forum. http://www.megforemanpsychology.com.au/ www.tiffaneeandco.com.au | @rollwiththepunches_podcast | @tiffaneeandco EPISODE SPONSOR: TRY escape Landscape Design & Construction | www.facebook.com/tryescape | @tryescape See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
