The season has been praised for its animation, humor, and storytelling. However, it has also been met with controversy due to the firing of Justin Roiland, the co-creator and voice of Rick and Morty. Roiland was fired from the show in January 2023 following allegations of domestic violence and workplace harassment. Roiland has denied the allegations, but Adult Swim decided to part ways with him. The seventh season of Rick and Morty features new voice actors for Rick and Morty. Dan Harmon, the other co-creator of the show, has said that he is "proud" of the new season and that he believes that the fans will love it. However, some fans have been critical of the new season, saying that the voices of Rick and Morty are not the same.
